摘要： In an image forming apparatus having a detachable process cartridge in which an image carrier on which an electrostatic latent image is formed, and a developing unit which develops the electrostatic latent image so that a toner image can be formed, both integrally formed into one unit. There is provided a developer container including a discharge section which can be inserted into a supply opening of the developing unit, and a container in which a predetermined amount of developer is contained, wherein the developer container is provided to the toner supply opening of the developing unit and the developer is supplied into the developing unit housing when a toner stirring screw of the developing unit is rotated.

摘要： An image forming machine such as a copier and a printer for forming a color image on a recording sheet. The image forming machine includes: a photoreceptor for carrying the color image; an image writer such as a laser beam generator for forming a latent image of the color image on a surface of the photoreceptor; plural color developers for developing the latent image with color toners so that a developed color image is formed on the surface of the photoreceptor; a transferer for transferring the developed color image from the photoreceptor to the recording sheet; a cleaner for cleaning a residual portion of the developed color image on the photoreceptor; and a controller for controlling a cleaning operation of the cleaner which starts the cleaning operation after the transferring operation is completed. In the image forming machine, the plural color developers, the transferer, and the cleaner are located facing toward the surface of the photoreceptor, and a length of the surface between the transferer and the cleaner through the plural color developers is longer than a length of the color image. In addition, the image writer, the plurality of color developers, the transferer and the cleaning device are located in a specific order around the photoreceptor.

摘要： In a color image forming machine including a belt-shaped photoreceptor stretched around a plurality of rollers, and a horizontal portion of the photoreceptor being disposed above and in parallel to face a plurality of developing devices, a charging device and a transfer device are disposed to face the photoreceptor at a common position where the photoreceptor is curved around one roller. A cleaning device is disposed to face the photoreceptor at a position where the photoreceptor is curved around the other roller. The charging device is used as a transfer device by changing supplied voltage or is interchangeable with the transfer device by being either slid or rotated between two positions. The photoreceptor, the developing devices and the cleaning device are integrally formed as a cartridge which is detachably mountable to the machine. The photoreceptor is rotated at least five times when a color image is formed by the processes of charging, exposing, transferring and cleaning, and is rotated at least twice when a monochromatic image is formed by the processes.

摘要： A method for determining toner adhesion amounts of plural color toners on a photoreceptor. The method includes the steps of: (1) forming plural reference latent images, each of which is corresponding to a respective component color image of a reference toner image; (2) developing the reference latent images, each of which is developed with a respective color toner of the plural color toners, so that developed reference latent images are superimposed, each at a time, on the photoreceptor to form the reference toner image; (3) detecting the toner adhesion amounts of the plural color toners by detecting the reference toner image every time when one of the developed reference latent images is superimposed on the same portion of the photoreceptor; and (4) determining whether the toner adhesion amounts of the plural color toners are normal or abnormal according to results of the detecting step.

摘要： In an image-forming system where a photosensitive belt is exposed to and scanned with a laser beam to form an image on the surface of the photosensitive belt, a standard pattern having laser beam-transmitting portions and non-transmitting portions arranged alternately in the direction of main scanning of the laser beam is formed on the photosensitive belt, and light-detecting means is disposed to detect the intensity of the laser beam transmitted through the transmitting portions. Dislocation of the focal point of the laser beam is detected based on the difference of the detected beam intensity between the transmitting portions and the non-transmitting portions, and based on the result of this detection, a collimator lens is moved in the direction of the optical axis to correct the dislocation of the focal point.
