Abstract: A beam steering antenna structure comprises a stacked antenna module and a first conductive component. The antenna module comprises a first substrate and a second substrate arranged superjacent such that main planes of the substrates extend in parallel. The first substrate comprises a first antenna array transmitting and receiving a first radiation beam. The second substrate comprises a second antenna array transmitting and receiving a second radiation beam. The first conductive component extends adjacent to the antenna module and is at least partially separated from the antenna module in a first direction perpendicular to the main plane of the conductive component. The antenna module is coupled to the conductive component by means of at least one of a galvanic, capacitive, or inductive coupling. At least one of the first and the second radiation beams is at least partially steered away from the other one by the first conductive component.

Abstract: A beam steering antenna structure comprising a printed circuit board and a conductive component, a first wall and a second wall of the printed circuit board being juxtaposed with a first surface of the conductive component, the second wall abutting and being galvanically connected to the first surface. A second surface of the conductive component extends at an angle from the first surface. A connecting surface extends between the first wall and the second wall such that a groove is formed, the groove being partially juxtaposed to the first surface. The groove comprises a first antenna array and a second antenna array transmitting or receiving, respectively, a first radiation beam and a second radiation beam having orthogonal polarizations. The second surface steers at least one of the first or second radiation beam in a direction away from or towards the connecting surface.

Abstract: The disclosure relates to suppressing surface waves in a communication device for a wireless communication system. The communication device includes a dielectric layer extending along a plane between a chassis and a glass layer, an antenna element configured to emit a radio wave, and a retroreflective structure extending inside the dielectric layer and being located adjacent to the antenna element, and where the retroreflective structure is configured to reflect the radio wave in an angle non-parallel to the plane. The retroreflective structure hence prevents parasitic channeling of the antenna energy into surface waves in and behind the glass layer and directs the radiation into the desired direction.

Abstract: An electronic device and antenna system for generation of millimeter-wave frequency radiation. The antenna system has first conductive structure, a second conductive structure, and an antenna comprising a first antenna element configured to excite a first electric field having a first polarization, and a second antenna element configured to excite a second electric field having a second polarization. The first antenna element and the second antenna element extend in an antenna plane. A first surface of the dielectric volume is open to the exterior of the antenna system. The dielectric volume allows the first and second electric fields to propagate, within the dielectric volume, from the antenna at least partially towards the first conductive structure, and to radiate from the first surface to the exterior.

Abstract: A display assembly, a client device having the display assembly, and a method of manufacturing the display assembly are disclosed. Antenna performance in, e.g., mobile devices is improved via a robust and multifunctional multi-layer glass structure for a display of the mobile device or the like which allows placing auxiliary antenna elements between layers of the display structure. The structure allows placing the auxiliary antenna elements at different positions within it. The auxiliary antenna elements can be placed under and/or within the display, instead of, for example, surrounding the display. The multi-layer structure is continuous from the display surface to the substrate and gives freedom to place the auxiliary antenna elements, including metal elements, between any layers of the structure.

Abstract: An antenna arrangement for a communication device comprises a top conductive patch comprising at least a first coupling point and a second coupling point coupled to one or more feed circuits carrying a radio frequency (RF) signal to or from the top conductive patch. The RF signal has a first phase in the first coupling point and a second phase in the second coupling point. A first slot extends in the conductive patch between the first coupling point and the second coupling point. The antenna arrangement according enables a desired current distribution to be realized in the antenna in a controlled and systematic manner.
