Abstract: This application relates to the field of communication technologies, and discloses a communication method and an apparatus. The method includes: A relay terminal receives first identifier information from a remote terminal, where when the remote terminal is in an idle state, the first identifier information includes an S-TMSI of the remote terminal, and when the remote terminal is in an inactive state, the first identifier information includes an I-RNTI of the remote terminal. When the relay terminal obtains, through monitoring, a first paging message including the first identifier information, sending, by the relay terminal, the first paging message to the remote terminal or sending first indication information to the remote terminal, where the first indication information indicates that the remote terminal is paged.

Abstract: This application provides a method for communicating a modulation and coding scheme (MCS). A terminal device obtains a modulation order, a code rate, or a spectral efficiency, determines an index of a reference MCS from a mapping table based on the obtained modulation order, code rate, or spectral efficiency, and reports the index of the reference MCS to a network device. The mapping table includes one or more mapping relationships between an MCS index and a modulation order, a code rate, or a spectral efficiency. The terminal device may process uplink or downlink data based on the determined MCS, thereby improving data transmission reliability.

Abstract: A relay device first receives a data packet from a network device through a first link, and sends the data packet to user equipment through a second link. A protocol stack of the relay device consists of a physical layer, a media access control layer, and a segmentation function or a resegmentation function of a radio link control layer; a protocol stack of the relay device consists of a physical layer, a media access control layer, a segmentation function or a resegmentation function of a radio link control layer, and an adaptation layer; or a protocol stack of the relay device consists of a physical layer and a hybrid automatic repeat request function of a media access control layer. The first link is a wireless communication link between the network device and the relay device, and the second link is a wireless direct communication link between the relay device and the user equipment.

Abstract: This application discloses a frequency compensation method and apparatus, to improve performance of frequency compensation. The method includes: determining a change rate of a Doppler frequency shift value based on a weighted change rate of a change rate of a timing advance TA, determining the Doppler frequency shift value based on the change rate of the Doppler frequency shift value, and performing frequency compensation based on the determined Doppler frequency shift value; or determining a frequency offset value based on the Doppler frequency shift value with reference to pre-compensation and based on a reference signal, to further determine a frequency offset value, and performing frequency compensation based on the frequency offset value.

Abstract: Embodiments of this application provide an MBMS service communication method and a base station, and relate to the communication field. The method includes: A source base station obtains first group identity information of an MBMS service of a terminal device in a neighboring cell; and the source base station sends the first group identity information to the terminal device. In this application, after moving to or accessing the neighboring cell, the terminal device may continue to receive service content and information of the MBMS service based on the first group identity information that is of the MBMS service in the neighboring cell and that is obtained from the source base station.

Abstract: Example neighboring cell relationship configuration methods and apparatus are described. One example method includes: generating a neighboring cell status function identifier by a satellite, where the neighboring cell status function identifier can be used to indicate an inactive state of at least one neighboring cell of a satellite cell. The satellite sends neighboring cell relationship configuration information that includes the neighboring cell status function identifier to a communications device, and the communications device determines a configuration status of a corresponding neighboring cell based on the neighboring cell relationship configuration information.
