Abstract: Disclosed embodiments are related to configuring and/or provisioning user equipment (UE) for Multicast-Broadcast Service (MBS). The present disclosure provides embodiments to allow a Fifth Generation System (5GS) to configure the MBS sessions based on Quality of Service (QoS) conditions of the receptions of MBS session of the UEs (subscribers). As such, the 5GS is able to provide differentiated QoS flows in the MBS session to UEs, which may have different service subscription in the 5GS and user subscriptions for MBS applications. Other embodiments may be described and/or claimed.

Abstract: User equipment (UE) includes processing circuitry. To configure the UE for enhanced coverage (EC) in a 5G network, the processing circuitry is to encode N1 configuration request signaling for transmission to an Access and Mobility Function (AMF) of the 5G network. The N1 configuration request signaling includes an EC support capability indication of whether the UE supports restriction for EC. An N1 configuration response signaling is decoded from the AMF, the N1 configuration response signaling including EC restriction information. The EC restriction information is determined based on the EC support capability indication and subscription information of the UE. An enhanced coverage restriction determination is performed using the EC restriction information. A cell is selected from a plurality of available cells within the 5G network based on the enhanced coverage restriction determination.

Abstract: Systems and methods provide solutions for reliable data transfer in a mobile communication network. A user equipment (UE) may indicate to the mobile communication network a capability of the UE to support a reliable data service protocol. The UE may process non-access stratum (NAS) messages, for both mobile originated (MO) data transfer and mobile terminated (MT) data transfer, using the reliable data service protocol to determine whether protocol data units (PDUs) of the NAS messages require no acknowledgement, require acknowledgment, or include an acknowledgement, and to detect and eliminate duplicate PDUs received at the UE in the NAS messages.

Abstract: User equipment (UE) within dual connectivity (DC) architecture with a Master Node-B (MN) and a Secondary Node-B (SN) includes processing circuitry decoding connection reconfiguration information from the MN. The connection reconfiguration information includes signaling radio bearer type 3 (SRB3) configuration information. The SRB3 configuration information originates from the SN and configures a SRB3, the SRB3 for a radio resource control (RRC) connection between the UE and the SN. An RRC connection reconfiguration request message received from the SN via the SRB3 is decoded. The RRC connection reconfiguration request message includes UE new radio (NR) security capability information of the SN. The processing circuitry further determines whether the UE NR security capability information received from the SN matches UE NR security capability information received by the UE from the MN.
