Abstract: Methods and apparatus to facilitate user interactions with foldable displays are disclosed. A computing device includes a foldable display having a first region, a second region, and a bendable region between the first and second regions. The computing devices includes a hover sensing system associated with the bendable region to detect a hover event, and a touch sensing system associated with at least one of the first region or the second region to detect a touch event. The computing device further includes an operations controller to implement an action on the computing device responsive to at least one of the hover event or the touch event.

Abstract: The present disclosure is directed to systems and methods of reducing display image power consumption while maintaining image quality on display devices having a plurality of display power modes. Each display power mode has associated therewith a defined baseline value (K1,BASELINE) first relationship. A display image includes a baseline percentage under-boosted pixels (Xi,BASELINE). Using the first relationship value (K1,BASELINE) and the pixel percentage (Xi,BASELINE), a baseline second relationship value is determined (K0,BASELINE). The value associated with the second relationship is adjusted to a first plurality of values. At each value, the value associated with the pixel percentage is adjusted to each of a second plurality of values. At each combination of second relationship value and pixel percentage, a respective first relationship value is determined. A first relationship value, second relationship value are selected to provide a reduced power consumption while maintaining image quality.

Abstract: Techniques for implementing aging compensation for a display are described. An example of an electronic device includes a display with a plurality of pixels, each pixel including one or more Light Emitting Diodes (LEDs). The electronic device also includes a wear compensation unit. The wear compensation unit is configured to receive input frame data corresponding to content to be displayed, determine a wear compensation configuration that identifies which of the plurality of pixels are compensated pixels and which are non-compensated pixels, and generate output frame data by adjusting the input frame data associated with the compensated pixels based on a degree of aging of the LEDs of the compensated pixels.

Abstract: An example computing device comprises a processor to be coupled to a display device, and a boot controller coupled to the processor and to be coupled to the display device. The boot controller is configured to detect a power signal, receive sensor data detected by one or more sensors prior to an operating system being loaded by a boot process of the processor, determine a posture associated with the display device based on the sensor data detected by the one or more sensors, and communicate, to the display device, posture information indicating the posture associated with the display device. Pre-boot content is to be displayed on a display panel of the display device in a first arrangement based on the posture information. In more specific embodiments, determining the posture includes determining at least an orientation of the display device and whether a peripheral is present on the display device.

Abstract: Technologies for performing a simplified pixel shifting scheme on a display (e.g., an organic light emitting diode (OLED) display) are disclosed herein. An electronic device presents, on the display, a virtual display having an active area and a margin area surrounding the active area. The active area is to display content (e.g., image data, video data, etc.), and an amount of pixels in the virtual display is greater than an amount of pixels in the active area. The electronic device is also to shift the pixels of the active area within the virtual display according to a pixel shifting technique and update a touch coordinate offset for the touch screen interface based on the shift.
