    Abstract: An apparatus for guiding and braking an elevator system traveling body movable along a guide track includes a holder fastened to the body, a guide device and a braking device. The holder transmits guiding forces between the guide device, guided on at least one track surface in the longitudinal direction, and the body. The guide device is held on and is elastically movable relative to the holder transverse to the longitudinal direction by at least a predetermined tolerance distance. The braking device includes a carrier and a braking element movable between a deactivated configuration, in which a braking surface of the braking element is laterally spaced apart from the guide track, and an activated configuration, in which the braking surface abuts the guide track, in a reversible manner by an activation distance transverse to the guide track. The carrier of the braking device is rigidly coupled to the guide device.

    Abstract: A method and a catching device are used to catch a traveling body in an elevator system wherein traveling body is movable along a rail. The catching device includes a first braking element, a second braking element, a first guide element, a second guide element and an actuating element. The first braking element and the second braking element are brought into contact with the rail for braking. A first linear bearing is formed between the first braking element and the first guide element and a second linear bearing is formed between the second braking element and the second guide element. Both guide elements are moved between a rest position and a braking initial position, the actuating element moving the two guide elements from the rest position into the braking initial position.

    Abstract: An elevator system includes an elevator car and a laser distance measuring device. The elevator car is moved along a travel path that is delimited at the top by an upper boundary and at the bottom by a lower boundary. The laser distance measuring device emits a laser beam and determines a distance to a position at which the laser beam impinges on an object. The laser distance measuring device is mounted on the elevator car such that the laser beam can be directed upward to the upper boundary in a first configuration and can be directed downward to the lower boundary in a second configuration. A current position of the elevator car can thereby be determined in a redundant manner. Furthermore, in a third configuration, lateral distances to boundary markers can be measured to read out information that is codified by the boundary markers.

    Abstract: In an elevator installation an elevator cage is arranged to be movable along guide rails and the elevator cage is equipped with a brake system possibly with two safety brakes. The safety device is activated by way of control devices which can trigger the safety device from critical or non-critical events. The control devices further include a function for automatic resetting of the safety brake when an event, which is evaluated as non-critical, is indicated as a reason for triggering the safety brake.     Abstract: In this speed limiter with cam wheel and pivot lever and pivot roller, a force limiter wheel with a plurality of dogs is provided at the pivot lever instead of a dog entering into the path of ratchet wheel teeth, wherein the force limiter wheel is braked by means of a slip clutch.
