摘要: An airbag has a front panel positioned on an occupant side when inflated, and a rear panel of substantially the same shape as the front panel positioned on an opposite side to the occupant. Furthermore, an inflation restricting section, which restricts the inflated shape of the airbag, is formed by drawing together and fixing a portion of the front panel. When the airbag is inflated, the occupant side of the airbag is pulled inwards, thereby forming a cavity on the occupant side.

摘要: A vehicular side airbag apparatus including chambers corresponding to an occupant's shoulder, lumbar, and chest and having three-dimensional shapes formed by baffles inside a side airbag and providing a thickness. The first baffle extends in a vehicular front-rear direction and is joined to a rear edge 103a of a side airbag 103 at a rear end 107b of the first baffle. The second baffle extends in a vehicular up-down direction and has an overlap portion 109 which is set at a longitudinally intermediate position of the second baffle and to which a longitudinally front end 107c of the first baffle is connected along with a vehicular interior panel 105 and a vehicular exterior panel 106. Longitudinal both ends 108b and 108c of the second baffle are joined to an outer peripheral edge of the side airbag 103.

摘要: A curtain air bag system includes a curtain air bag that is housed folded up in an upper edge portion of a door opening, and that includes a first deployment portion that deploys when a vehicle is collided with in a side collision as well as when the vehicle rolls over, and a second deployment portion that deploys at least when the vehicle rolls over, by receiving a supply of gas. The first deployment portion deploys in a cylindrical shape extending in a vehicle longitudinal direction, above a belt line such that a rear end side of the first deployment portion overlaps with a center pillar when viewed from a side of the vehicle, and the second deployment portion deploys such that a lower end extends below the belt line, in a position not overlapping with the first deployment portion when viewed from the side.

摘要: With the curtain air bag system according to this aspect, if the vehicle ends up rolling over, the main deployment portion receives a supply of gas and consequently inflates and deploys in a curtain shape. Also, the auxiliary deployment portion inflates and deploys by receiving a supply of gas from this main deployment portion via the gas passage. The head of an occupant seated in the front seat is protected against a rollover by the main deployment portion and the auxiliary deployment portion. Here, with the curtain air bag system described above, the upper end portion of the auxiliary deployment portion is connected to the front pillar via the connecting portion. Therefore, it is possible to prevent or effectively suppress the upper end of the auxiliary deployment portion from becoming offset in the vehicle width direction with respect to the front pillar when protecting the head of an occupant, which improves occupant head protection performance forward of the seat.
