摘要： An opposed-contact connector (11) in which terminal contacts are prevented from projecting from the connector except when they are to be electrically contacted with their respective mating electrodes, and the terminal contacts can be projected to have an appropriate contact pressure only when they are electrically contacted with the mating electrodes, respectively. The opposed-contact connector (11) includes a housing (13), terminals (51) received in the housing in such a manner that contacts (53) of the terminals project from a front portion of the housing, a spacer (15) slidably mounted on the front portion of the housing so as to enclose the contacts, and a spacer provisionally-retaining device (27,39) provided between the spacer and the housing, and before the housing is mounted on a mounting member (55), the spacer is provisionally retained on the housing by said retaining device in such a manner that the spacer encloses the contacts, and when mounting the housing on the mounting member, the retaining device releases the provisionally-retained condition, and allows the spacer to slide.

摘要： A female terminal includes a hollow contact portion of a substantially quadrangular cross-section for receiving a male terminal through an opening formed in a front end thereof, so as to establish an electrical connection between the male terminal and the female terminal, and a resilient contact piece, formed in the hollow contact portion by folding a tip portion of the bottom plate portion of the hollow contact portion, for biasing the male terminal toward the roof plate portion of the hollow. The resilient contact piece has a first piece portion which extends from the front end of the hollow contact portion so as to be inclined upwards toward the roof plate portion. The female terminal also includes a plurality of protruding portions extending from the bottom plate portion toward the roof plate portion, for supporting thereon the first piece portion while maintaining the elastic deformation of the first piece portion when an excessive force is applied to the first piece portion.

摘要： A packing plug assembly to be used in a connector housing to provide a seal therewithin. The assembly is composed of a resilient plug body and one or more rigid members. The resilient plug body is formed with a through hole therein to receive an insulated wire therein whereas the remaining portion of the resilient plug body is penetrated by the reinforcing members. The leading end of the wire is attached with a terminal which is securely pressed into the connector by means of rigid reinforcing member penetrating the resilient plug body to assure latching engagement therein when the plug assembly is press fitted into the connector. Such press fitting may be done by use of a rear holder adapted to be pushed into the connector after the resilient plug body.
