    Abstract: Pixel electrodes and a common electrode are formed on a first panel. A wall is formed on the first panel. The wall includes a large insulating wall that is made of an insulating material and projects toward a second panel, and a wall electrode part that covers a side wall of the large insulating wall and functions as the pixel electrode or the common electrode. The wall includes a side surface on which an alignment film that defines an alignment of liquid crystal molecules of a liquid crystal layer is formed.
