The method and system offers improvements to the throughput of an overall wireless local area network.     摘要: A transmission system wherein a speech signal is represented by a plurality of prediction parameters updated once per frame. Each frame comprises a plurality of sub-frames in which an excitation signal generated by a fixed codebook and an adaptive codebook is updated. In order to enhance the reconstructed speech quality the prediction coefficients are interpolated at the decoder by an LPC coefficient interpolator to obtain interpolated prediction coefficients for each sub-frame. According to the present invention the interpolation of the prediction coefficients is not based on the prediction coefficients used for transmission, such as reflection coefficients or Log Area Ratios, but on Line Spectral Frequencies. This reduces degradation of speech quality due to interpolation.

    摘要: A method and apparatus in a packet-switched communication network for controlling Quality of Service (QoS) for a packet-switched data stream that includes a plurality of contiguous data packages. The network normally provides the data stream to users at a first QoS level. When it is determined that a receiving user is not authorized to receive the data stream at the first QoS level, the apparatus intercepts the data stream prior to receipt by the receiving user and extracts selected data packages from the data stream to reduce the QoS level for the data stream to a lower, second QoS level to match an authorization status of the receiving user. The apparatus then forwards to the receiving user, a modified data stream with the lower, second QoS level.
