    摘要: A system for calibrating ESAs calculates a taper based on ESA element coordinates, and stores the taper as a vector matrix of gain values. The gain values are normalized by accounting for known losses by measuring a central element at minimum attenuation. The normalized gain is then a reference for every other element in the array. The other elements are then measured at various attenuations to identify an attenuation to produce the desired gain. The measurements are performed according to a bisection algorithm. Attenuation may be embodied in a set of digital register values.

    摘要: This disclosure relates to the use of satellite-based routing processes in connection with a balloon network. A disclosed method includes receiving a communication at a balloon in a balloon network by way of a transmission from a ground-based station. The method includes selecting a routing process for the communication based on at least one parameter associated with the communication. The routing process is selected from a plurality of routing processes including a first routing process and a second routing process. The first routing process includes a satellite network when determining how to route the communication. The satellite network includes one or more satellites. The second routing process includes the balloon network when determining how to route the communication. The method further includes using the selected routing process to determine a target path for the communication.

    摘要: Technologies are described herein for reserving energy at network nodes within a wireless network and establishing energy threshold levels within the network nodes to suspend or maintain certain operational states as supported by time varying energy levels. Energy within the network node can be reserved for processing a critical message in response to receiving a reservation request. An energy level threshold for a network node within a wireless network can be adjusted in response to receiving a reservation request. Message transmission can be enabled in response to the monitored energy level being above the energy level threshold. Message transmission may be suspended in response to the monitored energy level being below the energy level threshold.
