    摘要: Methods, systems, and computer program products for controlling communications between network applications and multiple network communications protocol stacks using deferred protocol stack association are disclosed. In one method, a socket creation function call is received from an application. A socket creation function call is terminated, a pseudo communications endpoint is created, and a socket descriptor corresponding to the pseudo communications endpoint is returned to the application. At least one subsequent sockets-related function call is received. Based on the subsequent sockets-related function call, it is determined whether the application is a client or a server. In response to determining that the application is a server, communications endpoints are created on each of the network communications protocol stacks and server-related sockets function calls are made to each of the underlying protocol stacks. In response to determining that the application is a client, a protocol stack is selected, a protocol-stack-specific communications endpoint is created, and client-related sockets function calls are made to the underlying protocol-stack.

    摘要: Techniques are provided for modifying a printer cartridge intended to operate in one type of printer to operate in another type of printer. In one aspect, a method of modifying a toner cartridge intended for operation in a first type of printer to operate in a second type of printer includes removing at least a portion of an old laser shutter fin attached to the toner cartridge at a first location, and attaching a new laser shutter fin to the toner cartridge at a second location, with second location differing from the first location. The old laser shutter fin was positioned to engage a laser shutter of the first type of printer, and the new laser shutter is positioned to engage a laser shutter of the second type of printer. In another aspect, the method may include attaching a chip mounting patch to the toner cartridge, and attaching a computer chip to the chip mounting patch, with the computer chip being compatible with the second type of printer. In another aspect, the method includes replacing a first type of transfer gear of the toner cartridge with a second type of transfer gear, with first type of transfer gear for operation with the first type of printer and said second type of transfer gear for operation.

    摘要: A system for limiting power supply transients in a powered up backplane when a printed circuit (PC) board is plugged in. The PC board includes first connecting pins with different lengths connecting to precharge planes on the backplane where each sequentially longer pin length is connected to a precharge plane providing a sequentially lower voltage. The first connecting pins are further connected by precharge circuits to power planes on the PC board. The precharge circuits are configured to ramp current to minimize power supply transients. In one embodiment, the precharge circuits each include a transistor and RC circuit connecting each first connecting pin to a power plane on the PC board.
