Abstract:
A ULD guide includes a base and an arm substantially upwardly extending from the base. A guide member having at least one substantially planar guide surface is pivotally connected to the arm, and is movable between a first guide position and a second guide position.
Abstract:
The invention provides valS polypeptides and DNA (RNA) encoding valS polypeptides and methods for producing such polypeptides by recombinant techniques. Also provided are methods for utilizing valS polypeptides to screen for antibacterial compounds.
Abstract:
Disclosed is a space launch system having a main engine which uses turbopumps to provide fuel and oxidizer to the main engine combustion chamber, and one or more booster engines that use high pressure fuel and/or oxidizer to pressurize the fuel and oxidizer tanks of the booster engine to obtain the pressure differential necessary to drive fuel and oxidizer from the fuel and oxidizer tanks of the booster engine to the combustion chamber of the booster engine.
Abstract:
A microreactor is described which is especially designed to analyze small solid samples, such as thin film catalyst. It includes (a) a horizontal tubular reaction vessel for receiving an article for testing, one end of the vessel being closed and the other end being connected to a ball valve end flange, (b) a horizontal shelf within the reaction vessel adapted to receive and support the article for testing, (c) gas inlet means for introducing gas into the vessel, (d) gas outlet means for removing gas from the vessel, (e) sensing means for sensing the temperature within the reaction vessel, (f) means disposed outwardly of the vessel and in heat-conductive relation to the outer surface thereof for heating the vessel, and (g) releaseable gripper means for delivering the article for testing through the ball valve and into the reaction vessel and for releasing the article onto the shelf.
Abstract:
A method and means for operating log converter circuits in which the method comprises the steps of sequentially conducting to the input of the log converter circuit signals representing a known transmittance (T) of 100% T, 10% T, 1% T, and 0.1% T, these signals covering the range of operation of the log converter circuit, storing the outputs of the circuit as signals representing an absorbance (A) of 0A, 1A, 2A, and 3A, respectively, conducting to the input of the log converter circuit an unknown signal, and utilizing a microcomputer to perform a linear interpolation of the output of the circuit with the unknown signal applied thereto using the previously stored 0A, 1A, 2A, and 3A signals.
Abstract:
Disclosed are compositions suitable for use with an oral care implement. The compositions provide improved sensory appeal, and comparable reduction in volatile sulfur compounds and antibacterial activity to advanced formula toothpaste formulations. The compositions include a high percentage of antibacterial agent and flavoring, when compared to conventional toothpastes, and some mouth washes formulations, such that only minor amounts of the composition can be delivered to the oral care implement to provide improved reduction in volatile sulfur compounds, antibacterial efficacy, and optionally a cooling sensation.
Abstract:
A self-adjusting loading guide and restraint for guiding and restraining aircraft unit load devices includes a base and an arm substantially upwardly extending from the base. The arm includes a vertical restraint portion and guide member having at least one substantially planar guide surface that is pivotally connected to the arm, and is movable between a first guide position and a second guide position. When the vertical restraint portion is engaged with a stowed first unit load device, the guide member assists in guiding a second unit load device away from the first unit load device and the loading guide and restraint and into a stowage location that is adjacent to the first unit load device.
Abstract:
Oral care compositions containing a stannous salt and sodium tripolyphosphate are provided where stannous tripolyphosphate ionic intermediates comprise less than about 1% of the compositions Tetrasodium pyrophosphate, a methylvinyl ether-maleic anhydride copolymer and/or a silica oral polishing agent may be added for further efficacy. In a single phase blend, the oral care composition may be effectively limited to comprise less than about 10% water. In a dual-phase blend a mixture having the stannous salt in a first phase and the sodium tripolyphosphate in a second phase may be generated from a dual chamber storage tube (with each phase provided from a separate chamber) immediately prior to dental care usage.
