Abstract:
Processes are disclosed for oxygen-tailoring polyethylene blow molding resin. Polyethylene resin is conveyed through a feed zone, a melt-mixing zone and a melt zone, wherein the temperature of the polyethylene resin is from about 216° C. to about 260° C. in the melt zone. The resin is contacted with oxygen in an amount of at least about 20 parts by weight oxygen per million parts by weight resin. The oxygen-treated resin can be used to make polyethylene blow molded articles having improved melt strength, processability, and die swell.
Abstract:
Semiconductor device-based chemical sensors and methods associated with the same are provided. The sensors include regions that can interact with chemical species being detected. The chemical species may, for example, be a component of a fluid (e.g., gas or liquid). The interaction between the chemical species and a region of the sensor causes a change in a measurable property (e.g., an electrical property) of the device. These changes may be related to the concentration of the chemical species in the medium being characterized.
Abstract:
A sight for archery bows including an elongate sight pin carrier having a guideway in which are adjustably carried a number of sight pin holders. The pin holders are of cruciform shape with a sight pin in threaded engagement therewith for lateral sight pin adjustment. A locking screw secures each pin holder to the pin carrier. For sighting in the sight, the pin carrier is tiltable in a vertical plane in one form of the sight to vary the viewed or apparent distance between the sight pins while in a second form of the invention, the pin carrier is slidably mounted on a bow mounted base. The base may define elongate intersecting slots for base and sight positioning along two courses.
Abstract:
An ATV safety roll bar system including a safety belt, a seat back, and a collapsible emergency shelter adapted to secure to the roll bar and ATV. The roll bar may prevent injury or death in cases of ATV rollover accidents or crashes by absorbing the brunt of the force from the rolling or falling ATV. The seat back may include a rope or strap laced between metal bars having a series of holes, the metal bars being integrated onto the roll bar. The safety belt may be attached to the roll bar at various points and may be configurable to meet the preference of the ATV operator. The system may include a seat belt retractor to secure the operator on the ATV. The system may include rollover stop bars that extend in response to near rollover conditions. The system may include a tilt sensor and alarm warning system.
Abstract:
A memory subsystem may be usable in an electronic system. The memory subsystem may comprise a memory controller and a plurality of memory modules coupled to the memory controller. The memory module may be isolated wherein transactions that target the isolated memory module can complete without loss of data and without accessing the isolated memory module, and while isolated, the memory module can be tested.
Abstract:
A system and method are disclosed for transforming catalog data from multiple supplier sources to a standardized rich content catalog either by the suppliers themselves or by a third party using the system and method of the present invention. Incoming raw catalog data content is cleansed and normalized using an extensive knowledge base of patterns and incoming schemas are appended to the cleansed and normalized data. The resulting rich content catalogs are published for user browsing and data syndication. Users are administered to form groups for purposes of shopping, product pricing, and access authorization.
Abstract:
Gallium nitride material devices and methods associated with the same. In some embodiments, the devices may be transistors which include a conductive structure connected to a source electrode. The conductive structure may form a source field plate which can be formed over a dielectric material and can extend in the direction of the gate electrode of the transistor. The source field plate may reduce the electrical field (e.g., peak electrical field and/or integrated electrical field) in the region of the device between the gate electrode and the drain electrode which can lead to a number of advantages including reduced gate-drain feedback capacitance, reduced surface electron concentration, increased breakdown voltage, and improved device reliability. These advantages enable the gallium nitride material transistors to operate at high drain efficiencies and/or high output powers. The devices can be used in RF power applications, amongst others.
Abstract:
A grasping device comprises a grasping member springably connected to a handle member. When the grasping member is withdrawn from the handle member, plier arms on the grasping member open so that an object to be grasped may be positioned therebetween. When the grasping member is permitted to be pulled by the spring back into the handle member, the plier arms close about the object, grasping it securely.
