Abstract: A prefabricated building panel for use in constructing a building structure includes a generally planar concrete panel, a metal member separate from the concrete panel and positioned on an end surface of the concrete panel so that the metal member is exposed for serving as a welding surface, and a plurality of bar anchors welded to the metal member and embedded in the concrete panel. The bar anchor is welded to the metal member to fix the metal member in place relative to the concrete panel. The metal member serves as a connection region for connecting the building panel to another building panel through welding.

Abstract: A tape cassette which locks up to prevent more than one play through of the information carrying portion of the cassette has a label with an encrypted unlocking combination for the cassette along with a memory address for a key code needed to decrypt the combination. A locked up cassette may be inserted in an unlock terminal which reads the information on the label and looks in memory at the address on the label for a key code. The returned key code is used to decrypt the unlocking combination read from the label and the unlocking combination is applied to unlock the cassette. A host may intermittently communicate with the unlock terminal in order to update the memory of the unlock terminal.

Abstract: An identification document manufacturing method makes an identification document with an optically variable security feature by forming a lens structure in the document's lamination layer along with image information. The method provides image information arranged to include at least two different images. The method uses pressure to form a lens profile in a laminate, including combining the laminate with ink representing the image information to form the document. The document is formed together with the laminate and ink such that the lens profile enables display of the at least two different images when the document is viewed at different predetermined angles. An information bearing document comprises a core layer, an image layer depicting at least two different images, and a laminate layer. The laminate layer is pressed on the core layer such that it forms a lens profile that enables display of the at least two different images when the document is viewed at different predetermined angles.

Abstract: A peristaltic depositing machine includes a hopper to store viscous material. A flexibly deformable tubing section is connected to the hopper for receiving the viscous material. A pair of rollers cooperate to compress tubing section and thereafter move forwardly along the tubing section such that the viscous material is forwardly propagated. A manifold is connected between the hopper and the tubing section to transmit the viscous material there between. A flow control unit is connected to a portion of the tubing section forward of the pair of rollers. The flow control unit alternately constricts and unconstricts the portion of the tubing section in synchronism with the forward movement by the pair of rollers. A nozzle is connected to an output end of said tubing section to shape the viscous material upon output. A carriage is also connected to an output end of the tubing section and moves about a predetermined travel path to thereby direct an output location of the viscous material.

Abstract: A method for making a secure identification document with multiple images is provided. Information is provided to an information bearing layer, the information constructed and arranged to be capable of providing multiple images when the printed information is viewed at different predetermined angles through an appropriate lens. At least a portion of the information is covered with a layer of a substantially a transparent film material. A lens profile is embossed onto a first portion of the substantially transparent film material, wherein the first portion of the substantially transparent film material comprises an area that is less than the entire layer of substantially transparent film material and wherein the first location substantially coincides with the location of the information. The lens profile forms a lens on a portion of the substantially transparent film material, the lens enabling the information viewed through the lens to display multiple images when the information is viewed at different predetermined angles.
