摘要:
A stent delivery system is disclosed for delivering and deploying a radially expandable stent at a strategic orientation and location in a body vessel. The delivery system includes an elongated flexible tubular shaft sized suitably for insertion into the body vessel, first and second inflatable members disposed adjacent the distal end of the elongated shaft and an endoprosthesis disposed about the first and second inflatable members. The delivery system further includes a tip assembly which during to advancement of the delivery system is configured as a single tip assembly, wherein prior to deployment of the expandable endoprosthesis, the tip assembly is split into a first tip and a second tip, wherein one of the tips remains in a main branch and the second tip is advanced into a side branch lumen to align the endoprosthesis prior to deployment.

The present invention provides an intraluminal stent delivery catheter device having improved stent retention. Particularly, the present invention is directed to a catheter having an expandable member and a fibrous matrix positioned over the expandable member and a stent mounted on the outer surface of the fibrous matrix. The fibrous matrix provides mechanical interface for improved stent retention, delivery and deployment.

A dual lumen guidewire support catheter for accurately crossing a chronic total occlusion in a vessel is disclosed. The dual lumen guidewire support catheter includes a first lumen portion and a second lumen portion sharing a common side and a common distal end. The first lumen portion can be a rapid exchange or over-the-wire portion, while the second lumen portion is an over the wire portion. One or both of the portions can include a discontinuity to enable removal of a guidewire following placement through or at an occlusion or lesion.

A modular endoprosthesis is configured to have improved flexibility during and after deployment by having separate endoprosthetic modules that are interconnected by flexible interconnectors. The modular endoprosthesis includes a plurality of separate endoprosthetic modules positioned adjacently so that a first end of a first endoprosthetic module is adjacent to an end of a second endoprosthetic module and a second end of the first endoprosthetic module is adjacent to an end of a third endoprosthetic module. Additionally, the modular endoprosthesis includes a plurality of flexible interconnectors coupled to the plurality of separate endoprosthetic modules so as to interconnect the first end of the first endoprosthetic module with the end of the second endoprosthetic module with a first flexible interconnector, and interconnect the second end of the first endoprosthetic module with the end of the third endoprosthetic module with a second flexible interconnector.

A support catheter that can puncture a heart septum with a guidewire without buckling and that can access difficult to reach arteries such as carotid or renal arteries from the aorta under difficult circumstances is provided. The support catheter comprises a catheter body having a proximal end, a distal end, and an interior wall surface defining a first lumen extending from the proximal end toward the distal end. A second lumen is disposed between the interior wall surface and an outer surface of the catheter body. A plurality of stiffening members is disposed around the second lumen, the plurality of stiffening members being engageable to selectively stiffen the catheter body. In another configuration, the catheter further comprises a second plurality of stiffening members disposed between the first lumen and the second lumen.

A bifurcation stent delivery catheter includes a first branch balloon, a second branch balloon adjacent the first branch. A centering balloon is optionally disposed distal of the second branch balloon. The balloons are coupled by a coupling device to a main shaft of a catheter. The coupling device allows axial forces to be transmitted from the main shaft to the balloons while allowing the balloons to rotate axially relative to the main shaft with ease. The coupling device functions as an axial rotational joint. The coupling device can have a flexible tubular member that connects the balloons to the main shaft, the tubular member having a torsional flexibility greater than that of the main shaft. The coupling device can have a tubular wall having a cut extending circumferentially around the tubular wall and protective boot covering the cut. The coupling device can have a wound member that allows the axial rotation.

The present invention embodies an endovascular graft having an attachment frame connection mechanism that allows placement of the main body component in vasculature in combination with limb components. Various limb component-to-main body component attachment mechanisms are provided which ensure a reliable bond while facilitating a smaller delivery profile.

Disclosed are catheter apparatus and methods for deploying a stent in a bifurcated vessel while minimizing flow problems in the branch vessel. In general, the catheter includes at least one non-compliant inflation structure for pushing a stent against a vessel wall in a main vessel and a compliant inflation structure for forming an opening in the stent across an opening in a branch vessel. Ideally, flow reduction caused by the stent is minimized due to the stent opening at the branch vessel. Additionally, other medical devices, such as a guide wire or a second stent, may be easily inserted through the opening in the stent into the branch vessel.

A new endoluminal prosthesis for use in sealing a vascular graft to corporeal lumen provides for a flattened bulbous tail at the end of each cell of the prosthesis. The flattened bulbous tails reduce the amount of wear between the prosthesis and the softer material of the vascular grafts or corporeal lumen walls. A method of manufacturing a stent from a flat sheet of material is also included.
