Abstract: A system for treating a bifurcated vessel that includes a first delivery catheter and a second delivery catheter. The first delivery catheter carries a proximal first stent and a distal second stent. The first delivery catheter also has a first elongate shaft, a proximal first expandable member with the proximal first stent disposed thereover, and a distal second expandable member with the distal second stent disposed thereover. The proximal first expandable member and distal second expandable member are independently expandable of one another. The second delivery catheter carries a third stent. The second delivery catheter also has a second elongate shaft, and a third expandable member with the third stent disposed thereover. The third expandable member is independently expandable of the proximal first expandable member and the distal second expandable member.

Abstract: A prosthetic valve includes a tubular valve body, snares, and an upstream support. A native valve of a heart of a subject is disposed between an atrium and a ventricle of the heart, and has an annulus and leaflets. The prosthetic valve is advanced to the heart while in a compressed state. The prosthetic valve is positioned within the heart such that the snares are disposed upstream of the annulus and leaflets. The snares are expanded radially outwardly upstream of the leaflets. Subsequently, the prosthetic valve is moved in a downstream direction such that the snares become disposed downstream of the leaflets. While the snares remain downstream of the leaflets, the upstream support is expanded within the atrium, and the upstream support is placed against an upstream surface of the annulus. Other embodiments are also described.

Abstract: A prosthetic heart valve implant is provided including a frame shaped so as to define upstream and downstream openings at upstream and downstream ends of the frame, respectively, when the implant is in an expanded state for implantation at a heart native valve. A sheet is coupled to the frame. When the implant is in the expanded state, the frame is shaped so as to define the following longitudinal portions arranged along a central longitudinal axis of the prosthetic heart valve implant: a substantially cylindrical mid portion having a diameter greater than respective diameters of the upstream and the downstream ends of the frame; an upstream portion, extending upstream and radially inward from the mid portion; and a downstream portion, extending downstream and radially inward from the mid portion. Other embodiments are also described.

Abstract: The techniques of this disclosure generally relate to a modular stent device including a main body configured to be deployed in the ascending aorta, a bypass gate configured to be deployed in the aorta, and a bifurcated contra limb. The bifurcated contra limb includes a single proximal limb that is bifurcated (split) into a first distal limb and a second distal limb. By forming the bifurcated contra limb to include a single proximal limb that is bifurcated into the distal limbs, guiding a guide wire into the relatively larger opening of bifurcated contra limb at a proximal end is simpler than guiding a guidewire into two smaller limbs extending distally from main body. Accordingly, cannulation of the bifurcated contra limb is relatively simple thus simplifying the procedure. In addition, the parallel design mimics anatomical blood vessel bifurcations to limit flow disruptions.

Abstract: A system for deploying a prosthesis over a Carina between an ipsilateral lumen and a contralateral lumen includes a guidewire, a guidewire capture catheter, a self-expanding tubular prosthesis, and a delivery catheter. The guidewire is first placed in the ipsilateral lumen. The guidewire capture catheter is then advanced from the contralateral lumen to a position at or above the ipsilateral lumen. The guidewire is typically advanced through an occlusion, which may be a total occlusion, and captured by a capture element on the guidewire capture catheter. The guidewire capture catheter pulls the guidewire out through the contralateral side, and the guidewire is used to advance a delivery catheter from the ipsilateral side. The delivery catheter delivers a first segment of the tubular prosthesis in the ipsilateral lumen and a second segment of the prosthesis in the contralateral lumen.

Abstract: Stents that are adapted to be balloon-expanded and include a plurality of rings of repeating cells, wherein adjacent rings are connected by s-shaped or omega-shaped crosslink connectors or a combination of both connectors. The configurations, materials, and/or dimensions of these devices, including the unit cells and/or crosslink connectors allow the stents to be expanded to a greater extent (e.g., up to or greater than 12 mm of diameter), and optionally with reduced foreshortening and without increasing the strain on the materials forming the crosslink connectors and unit cells. The biphasic arrangement of trapezoidal unit cells, as well as the configuration and arrangement of the s-shaped connectors, may allow these stents to expand while maintaining their radial compression strength and longitudinal compression strength with minimal recoil and stent foreshortening.

Abstract: An anchor stent assembly to be used with a valve component includes a generally tubular frame having a first end and a second end, the frame defining a central passage and a central axis. A secondary passage is defined between n inner surface of the frame and an outer surface of an inner rib disposed closer to the central axis than the frame. An extension tube is disposed through the secondary passage. The extension tube includes an extension tube lumen having a first opening at a first end of the extension tube and a second opening at a second end of the extension tube.
