    摘要: This invention relates to a printing apparatus and a conveyance control method capable of simultaneously operating plural encoder sensors and executing more accurate printing medium conveyance control. A first encoder sensor provided adjacent to a first conveyance roller detects the conveyance amount of a printing medium by the first conveyance roller provided in the conveyance path of the printing medium. A second encoder sensor provided adjacent to a second conveyance roller detects the conveyance amount of the printing medium by the second conveyance roller provided in the conveyance path of the printing medium at the downstream side from the first conveyance roller in the conveyance direction of the printing medium. For example, conveyance of the printing medium is controlled on the basis of the output signals from the first and second encoder sensors when a tail end of the printing medium is located adjacent to the first conveyance roller.

    摘要: It is an object of the present invention to provide an ink jet printing apparatus that can print high quality images under simple control. The present invention includes a conveying roller disposed upstream of a printing section to convey a print medium, a pinch roller that rotates in cooperation with the conveying roller and discharging rollers that convey the print medium downstream of the printing section. The pinch roller, before a trailing end of the print medium reaches a nip portion between the conveying roller and the pinch roller moves from a pressure contact position with respect to the conveying roller. A conveyance amount of the print medium varies between before and after separation of the pinch roller from the conveying roller.

    摘要: A code printing method and apparatus which prints an image and a code on the same recording medium. The apparatus stores a plurality of density patterns corresponding to each density, and codes corresponding to the density patterns. When code data is inputted and printing of the code is instructed, the apparatus determines the density of each pixel of image data, selects the density pattern representing the code data among the density patterns corresponding to the pixel density, and prints the density pattern instead of the image pixel. Thus, the image and code are printed without deterioration of image quality.

    摘要: A recovery device is described for use with a recording head of an ink jet recording apparatus. The recording head is mounted on a carriage which can reciprocate. The recovery device includes a cap for capping an ink discharge portion of the recording head when not in use, and a wiper for wiping out the ink discharge portion with a movement of the carriage. The wiper is disposed outside the cap relative to the recording area. The recording head does not pass through an area occupied by the wiper when the recording head performs a predischarge with respect to the cap during recording.
