摘要： An image forming apparatus comprising: a recording unit; a reading unit rotatably supported to the upper portion of the recording unit so as to be openable and closable about one end as a fulcrum and reads an original; an L-shaped guide groove which is provided for the recording unit and in which a long groove portion and a short groove portion are connected by a bending portion; and a stay at one end is fitted into the guide groove and coupled therewith, the other end is swingably coupled with the reading unit. The guide groove has a restricting mechanism configured to alternately guide the projecting portion to the long groove portion and the short groove portion when the projecting portion moves from the bending portion.

摘要： In a print head which can be mounted in a printer and which has a first ejection portion to eject an ink and a second ejection portion to eject a print performance improving liquid to aggregate or make insoluble the ejected ink, the storage method effectively prevents the mixing of the ink and the print performance improving liquid if one or both of these liquids should leak before the print head is mounted in the printer. The seal member having an opening and adapted to seal the first and second ejection portions so that its opening is located between these ejection portions is removably bonded to the print head. This arrangement closes the ejection portions with the protective tape, preventing leakage of the ink and the print performance improving liquid. If one or both of these liquids should leak, the liquid seeping toward the other ejection portion by capillary action generated at the joint portion between the protective tape and the orifice plate surface can be blocked by the opening of the protective tape that nullifies the capillary action.

摘要： An ink jet recording apparatus, which records with deposition of ink droplets onto a recording medium by use of an ink jet recording head, includes a platen for supporting a recording medium in a position facing the ink jet recording head, a plurality of carrier roller pairs for nipping and carrying the recording medium to the position of ink deposition by the ink jet recording head and extrusions extended in the carrying direction of the recording medium with respect to the platen and arranged in the direction intersecting the carrying direction of the recording medium to support the reverse side of recording medium. The carrier roller pairs are positioned on each of the extended lines of the extrusions on the upstream side relative to carrying direction of the recording medium. With the structure thus arranged, the floating of a recording medium from the platen can be suppressed so as to allow the gap to be formed narrower between the recording medium and recording head, hence making it possible to perform recording in higher quality.
