A method and apparatus for supporting a closed subscriber group (CSG) service is provided. The apparatus includes a memory to store CSG subscription information and a processor operatively coupled to the RF unit and memory to implement a radio interface protocol. The processor accesses a base station (BS), transmits the CSG subscription information to the BS, receives an access mode from the BS where the access mode is determined based on the CSG subscription information, and negotiates with the BS with regard to a CSG service if the access mode supports a CSG to which the apparatus belongs.

A method of performing uplink synchronization in a wireless communication system includes transmitting a random access preamble which is randomly selected from a set of random access preambles, receiving a random access response, the random access response comprising a random access preamble identifier corresponding to the random access preamble and a time alignment value for uplink synchronization, starting a time alignment timer after applying the time alignment value, starting a contention resolution timer after receiving the random access response, wherein contention resolution is not successful when the contention resolution timer is expired, and stopping the time alignment timer when the contention resolution timer is expired.

The objective of the present invention is to provide a method for providing a communication service in a wireless communication system, and a method for operating user equipment (UE) comprising the steps of: receiving information on a network supporting a temporary communication service; receiving additional information for the temporary communication service; transmitting a first message requesting the temporary communication service to the network; receiving a second message authorizing the temporary communication service from the network; and performing a connection establishment procedure for the temporary communication service on the basis of the additional information, wherein the temporary communication is generated by a request by means of the first message, and may be a communication service based on a temporary subscription which expires by termination of the temporary communication service.

A method of transmitting control information for a multimedia broadcast/multicast service (MBMS) in a wireless communication system, and a method of receiving control information for an MBMS are discussed. The method of transmitting control information according to one embodiment includes transmitting first control information including an MBMS related identifier and a fixed size of a notification bitmap to at least one user equipment; and transmitting second control information which has been changed to the at least one user equipment after the transmission of the first control information. The second control information is transmitted via a multicast control channel (MCCH).

The present invention relates to a method in which a terminal reports the results of quality measurement based on a specific reference cell from among a plurality of serving cells for the terminal in a mobile communication system using carrier aggregation. The present invention also relates to a terminal apparatus for the method. For this purpose, the terminal receives measurement configuration information from a network, performs a quality measurement in accordance with the received measurement configuration information, determines whether or not a report criterion based on a specific reference cell from among the plurality of cells for the terminal is met in accordance with the measurement result, and, if the report criterion based on the specific reference cell is met, sends a report message, including the measurement results and an indicator that indicates the specific reference cell, to the network.
