Abstract:
A method of performing contention resolution associated with a random access procedure includes transmitting, by the mobile communication terminal, a random access preamble; receiving, by the mobile communication terminal, a random access response; transmitting, by the mobile communication terminal, an uplink message and starting a contention resolution timer once the uplink message is transmitted; and receiving, by the mobile communication terminal, a physical downlink control channel (PDCCH), wherein the mobile communication terminal considers whether a contention resolution is successful or not by using either a cell radio network temporary identity (C-RNTI) on the PDCCH or a UE Contention Resolution Identity on a downlink shared channel (DL-SCH) associated with the PDCCH, wherein the mobile communication terminal considers the contention resolution successful and stops the contention resolution timer when the C-RNTI on the PDCCH matches the uplink message, and when the UE Contention Resolution Identity on the DL-SCH matches the uplink message.
Abstract:
A method of transmitting and receiving control information in a wireless communication system is disclosed. The method of receiving control information related to a specific point-to-multipoint service in a user equipment of a wireless communication system comprises receiving a notification message including indication information and an identifier identifying the point-to-multipoint service from a network, the indication information indicating at least one downlink channel related to the specific point-to-multipoint service among a plurality of downlink channels established for transmission of control information for at least one or more point-to-multipoint service, and receiving at least one downlink channel indicated by the indication information.
Abstract:
A method and terminal for use in a communication system are discussed. The terminal can transmit a random access preamble via a physical random access channel (PRACH) to a network. The terminal may monitor a random access response after transmitting the random access preamble during a specific time window. Furthermore, if no random access response containing a random access preamble identifier corresponding to the transmitted random access preamble is received within the specific time window and a specific random access response contains a backoff indicator subheader is received, a preamble transmission counter is incremented by 1. A subsequent random access preamble transmission is delayed by a backoff time selected using a backoff indicator in the backoff indicator subheader, if the random access preamble was selected by a medium access control (MAC) layer.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus for supporting a closed subscriber group (CSG) service is provided. A user equipment determines whether a neighbor cell is a CSG member cell for which a CSG whitelist includes a CSG identity of the neighbor cell and PLMN identities of the neighbor cell. The user equipment sends a CSG membership indicator indicating whether the neighbor cell is the CSG member cell.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus for supporting a closed subscriber group (CSG) service is provided. The apparatus includes a memory to store CSG subscription information and a processor operatively coupled to the RF unit and memory to implement a radio interface protocol. The processor accesses a base station (BS), transmits the CSG subscription information to the BS, receives an access mode from the BS where the access mode is determined based on the CSG subscription information, and negotiates with the BS with regard to a CSG service if the access mode supports a CSG to which the apparatus belongs.
Abstract:
Provided are a method and device in which a terminal manages component carriers in a wireless communication system. The terminal receives activation pattern data indicating activation or inactivation of at least one serving cell from a base station, and activates or inactivates the at least one component carrier in accordance with the activation pattern data.
Abstract:
A method is described for operating a device in a wireless communication system. The device communicates with a base station using a subframe for the device only; detects, by the device, a problem with a connection between the device and the base station. The device starts a timer upon detecting the problem with the connection between the device and the base station. The device releases a restriction of using the subframe for the device only, if the timer expires. The problem with the connection between the device and the base station is associated with a radio link failure. The detection of a problem with the connection between the device and the base station comprises detecting consecutive out-of-sync indications.
Abstract:
According to one embodiment, a method for retransmitting a protocol data unit (PDU) in a mobile communication system includes: segmenting a first PDU to form one or more second PDUs if the first PDU does not fit within a PDU size indicated by a lower layer; and transmitting the one or more second PDUs to a receiving side. Segmenting the first PDU includes: mapping only a data field of the first PDU to a data field of the one or more second PDUs; and setting a header of each of the one or more second PDUs. The header of each of the one or more second PDUs includes a field indicating a sequence number of the first PDU.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus of reporting measurement results in a wireless communication system is provided. A user equipment receives a measurement configuration which configures a plurality of serving cells as measurement objects and performs measurements for the plurality of serving cells based on the measurement configuration to determine measurement results for the plurality of serving cells. The user equipment reports the measurement results for the plurality of serving cells.
