    摘要: Techniques for determining whether a mobile device crosses a boundary defined by a first wireless access point (WAP) and a second fixed-location WAP are provided. A method according to these techniques includes receiving, at a mobile device, information defining a boundary defined by first and second fixed-location WAPs, the boundary being defined at least in part based on a ratio of a round trip time (RTT) between the mobile device and the first fixed-location WAP to a ratio of a RTT between the mobile device and the second fixed-location WAP, determining the ratio of the RTT between the mobile device and the first fixed-location WAP to a ratio of the RTT between the mobile device and the second fixed-location WAP, determining whether the mobile device has crossed the boundary, and triggering an event in response to the mobile device crossing the boundary.

    摘要: Systems, apparatus and methods for determining a cyclic shift diversity (CSD) mode are presented. Examples communicate the CSD mode in a signaling message. Specifically, a CSD mode is set in an access point the sent to a mobile device. The signaling messages may be either a point-to-point message or a broadcast message. The access point or location server may set the current CSD mode from a plurality of mobile devices by crowd sourcing. For example, the plurality of mobile devices may report what CSD mode was detected. Alternative, the plurality of mobile devices may send a channel impulse response (CIR), or the like, to a location server and the location server may determine what CSD mode is currently used by the access point.

A measurement generator provides measurements of the operating resources and a context awareness engine identifies which of the operating resources may be efficiently utilized by a service application in view of context conditions in which the mobile device is operating. A selection controller selects, based on the measurements, at least one of the identified operating resources for use by the service application to improve or optimize a cost of the mobile device.

The system may also include a processing unit in signal communication with the basestation and the database (214) and a positional determination unit in the wireless device (118).
