摘要： It aims to make it possible to simultaneously record and reproduce a video signal and improve convenience of operation. A video recording/reproducing apparatus capable of recording an image into a recording medium and reproducing the image from the recording medium, comprising: a recording means for recording video signals and identifying signals indicating the content of the video signals into a recording medium; a displaying means for reading the identifying signals recorded in the recording medium (93), rearranging the read identifying signals, and displaying the identifying signals in the order of the rearrangement; and a reproducing means for sequentially reproducing the video signals from the recording medium (93) in the order of the rearrangement, in which whether there exists a video signal under recording in the recording medium (93) is checked and at completion of the recording of the video signal, video signals to be reproduced are sequentially reproduced.

Depending on an area in the first combined GUI area or in the second combined GUI area to which a user newly touches, which of the combined GUI to be used is determined and a screen image is switched, and if a finger or a thumb detaches, the screen image switches back.

The edit mode controller makes, based on a predetermined-operation command supplied via the operation command input unit, a selection between a group-unit edit point select mode in which a command for selection of a picture frame group of the video data stored in the storage unit is accepted via the operation command input unit to change the currently-selected picture frame group and a frame-unit edit point select mode in which a command for selection of one frame of a plurality of picture frame groups included in the currently-selected picture frame group is accepted via the operation command input unit to change the currently-selected picture frame, and sets, as an edit point, a picture frame corresponding to the result of selection in the group-unit edit point select mode or a picture frame corresponding to the results of selection in the group- and frame-unit edit point select modes in response to a set command supplied via the operation command input unit.
