Abstract: An physiological measurement device provides a device body having a base, legs extending from the base and an optical housing disposed at ends of the legs opposite the base. An optical assembly is disposed in the housing. The device body is flexed so as to position the housing over a tissue site. The device body is unflexed so as to attach the housing to the tissue site and position the optical assembly to illuminate the tissue site. The optical assembly is configured to transmit optical radiation into tissue site tissue and receive the optical radiation after attenuation by pulsatile blood flow within the tissue.

Abstract: Various sensors and methods of assembling sensors are described. In some embodiments, the sensor assembly includes a first end, a body portion, and a second end. The first end can include a neck portion and a connector portion and the second end can include a flap, a first component, a neck portion, and a second component. A method is also described for sensor folding. The method can include using a circuit with an attached emitter and a detector that is separated by a portion of the circuit. The method can also include folding the portion of the circuit such that a first fold is created through the emitter and folding the portion of the circuit such that a second fold is created such that the first fold and second fold form an angle.

Abstract: An ear sensor provides a sensor body having a base, legs extending from the base and an optical housing disposed at ends of the legs opposite the base. An optical assembly is disposed in the housing. The sensor body is flexed so as to position the housing over a concha site. The sensor body is unflexed so as to attach the housing to the concha site and position the optical assembly to illuminate the concha site. The optical assembly is configured to transmit optical radiation into concha site tissue and receive the optical radiation after attenuation by pulsatile blood flow within the tissue.

Abstract: A reusable sensor is disclosed for producing a signal indicative of at least one physiological parameter of tissue. The sensor can include a sensor housing that has a distal opening, a wire lumen, and a proximal opening. The distal opening can include a lumen extending through the body of the sensor housing and the wire lumen can be located on the outside of the sensor housing. The sensor can also include a first component located on a top surface of the sensor housing and along the pathway of the wire lumen. The sensor can also include a second component located on the bottom surface of the sensor housing opposite of the first component. The second component can also be located along the pathway of the wire lumen. The sensor can also include a wire coaxially disposed within the wire lumen and connecting the first component and second component.

Abstract: The application is directed to various connector and sensor assemblies. In some embodiments, the connector and sensor assembly comprises a connector and a sensor assembly. The connector can have an opening that has a first surface and second surface that are opposite each other. The connector can have a plurality of retractable electrical connectors that extend from the first surface and a lock structure that is located on the second surface. The sensor assembly is comprised of a body portion and a proximal end. The proximal end has a top side and a bottom side. The top side includes a plurality of electrical contacts that is configured to interact with the plurality of retractable electrical connectors. The bottom side includes a key structure that is configured to interact with the lock structure in the connector.
