摘要： A method for recognizing an image photographed by a camera and translating characters in connection with an electronic dictionary is provided. The method includes directly selecting an area to be recognized from the photographed character image and performing character recognition, translating and recognizing characters of a user's selected word in connection with dictionary data, and displaying translation result information of user's selected character or word in connection with dictionary data on a screen device. The recognition includes providing information on location of the selected character image area and location of the recognized character string words to the user, and then translating a character string or word in a location area selected by the user. The electronic dictionary-connected search and translation is for searching the character or word selected in connection with the electronic dictionary database, and providing translation result to the user.

摘要： Disclosed is a mobile terminal for providing a blackboard function to an image projected through a projector, which includes a projector for projecting an image on a screen, a camera for photographing the image projected through the projector and transferring the photographed image to an image processor. The image processor processes the image transferred from the camera and transfers the processed image to a controller. The controller controls the operation of the mobile terminal including recognizing an effective region for the projected image where infrared rays are detected from the photographed image so as to recognize an indication position of an indication device. The indication device generates infrared rays, in the projected image, and when the infrared rays are detected, a preset mark is displayed on a position of the detected infrared rays by using the projector.

摘要： A method and a portable terminal for identifying a counterfeit bill. The method includes receiving, by the portable terminal, an image of a bill photographed using visible rays and an image of the bill photographed using infrared rays; determining a denomination of the bill by comparing the image photographed using the visible rays with a denomination database; obtaining correction information for making the image photographed using the visible rays correspond to a corresponding bill image in the denomination database; forming a corrected image by correcting the image photographed using the infrared rays using the correction information; binary-coding the corrected image; and determining whether the bill is counterfeit by comparing the binary-coded corrected image with an image of the corresponding bill pre-stored in a genuine bill database.

摘要： A mobile communication device and method for identifying a counterfeit bill are provided. In the method, an InfraRed (IR) image of a bill is received, feature values are extracted from the IR image to represent edges, a binary image having displayed pixels and non-displayed pixels is generated based on the feature values, and a corrected image is generated by overlaying the binary image on a pre-stored real bill database and adjusting the binary image to match a predetermined area of the binary image matches to the predetermined area of the real bill database. A number of displayed pixels in the corrected image is counted, and whether the bill is counterfeit is based on the number of displayed pixels in the corrected image.

摘要： Disclosed is a method and an apparatus for recognizing characters using an image. A camera is activated according to a character recognition request and a preview mode is set for displaying an image photographed through the camera in real time. An auto focus of the camera is controlled and an image having a predetermined level of clarity is obtained for character recognition from the images obtained in the preview mode. The image for character recognition is character-recognition-processed so as to extract recognition result data. A final recognition character row is drawn that excludes non-character data from the recognition result data. A first word is combined including at least one character of the final recognition character row and a predetermined maximum number of characters. A dictionary database that stores dictionary information on various languages using the first word is searched, so as to provide the user with the corresponding word.
