    摘要: There is provided a catalyst comprising a layered silicate, such as magadiite, containing interspathic polymeric silica which serves to prop open the layers. The catalyst further comprises rare earth cations which are exchanged with other cations in the silicate. It has been discovered that this rare earth cation exchange imparts enhanced hydrothermal stability to the catalyst. There is also provided a method for making this catalyst and a process for using this catalyst for cracking hydrocarbons. In the cracking process, the catalyst is regenerated.

    摘要: A method is provided of operating an internal combustion engine comprising subjecting a hydrocarbon fuel of relatively low octane number to in situ reforming at elevated temperatures by passing it through a reaction zone containing a substantially non-acid catalyst comprising a Group VIII hydrogenation/dehydrogenation metallic element, e.g., platinum, and an intermediate pore zeolite, e.g., having an X-ray diffraction pattern similar to that of an acidic zeolite which has a Constraint Index in the approximate range of about 1 to 12, such that the fuel leaving said reaction zone has an increased octane number, and passing the fuel to the combustion chamber of said engine.

    摘要: Disclosed are methods for upgrading lube oil base stocks comprising the steps of hydrocracking such materials, preferably under relatively moderate conditions, and subsequently separating the hydrocracked materials to produce in an aromatic rich extract stream and an aromatics lean raffinate stream. The separation step is preferably achieved by solvent extraction of at least a portion of the hydrocracked material. The stream comprising the aromatic rich extract is then catalytically cracked under fluidized conditions to produce gasoline and other distillates. The aromatics lean raffinate stream is further processed by dewaxing and/or the like to produce relatively high volume metric yields of low viscosity lube oil having improved viscosity-temperature characteristics.
