摘要: During a first rotation of a photoconductor, latent electrostatic images for color correction processing patterns are formed on the photoconductor, and the latent electrostatic images are developed into the color correction processing patterns in each of four colors, and then densities of the patterns on the photoconductor are detected. During a second rotation of the photoconductor, each color of the patterns is recovered back into a developer device.

摘要: A tandem color laser printer 1 is provided with a photosensitive drum unit 15, a developing unit 14, and a scanning unit 13 for each color. The developing units 14, each including a main developer unit 25 and a toner hopper 24, and the scanning units 13, which irradiate laser beam, are alternately stacked vertically to overlap with each other in the vertical direction. This arrangement eliminates space required when arranging the developing units 14 and scanning units 13 side by side, thereby reducing the footprint of the color laser printer 1.

摘要: An image forming device includes a housing, a photosensitive drum, a developing unit, and a developing-agent moving configuration. The developing unit is freely detachably attached to the housing and includes an exchangeable toner box and a developing chamber, which are freely detachably attached to each other. The toner box has a through hole for supplying toner to the developing chamber. The developing portion includes a developing roller that rotates to transport toner from the toner box to a latent image on the photosensitive drum. The developing-agent moving configuration functions to move residual toner from the developing chamber into the present toner box before the toner box is exchanged for a new toner box.

摘要: An image forming apparatus includes: a photosensitive unit having a surface portion of negatively charging property and moved in a predetermined direction; a first charging device disposed opposite to the photosensitive unit with a first spacing therebetween and for charging the surface of the photosensitive unit to a first charged potential of negative polarity by a negative voltage; a second charging device disposed opposite to the photosensitive unit with a second spacing therebetween at a position downstream of the first charging device in a movement direction of the photosensitive unit and for charging the surface of the photosensitive unit charged by the first charging device to a second charged potential of negative polarity by a positive voltage, the second charged potential having an absolute value smaller than an absolute value of the first charged potential; an electrostatic latent image forming device for forming an electrostatic latent image on the photosensitive unit; and a developer carrying device for carrying and conveying developer and for developing the electrostatic latent image formed by the electrostatic latent image forming device by using the developer to form a visible image. The charging efficiency of the first charging device is set to be larger than 10%.

摘要: A developer supply device, comprising: a carrying substrate having electrodes arranged along a developer transport path at predetermined intervals to carry a developer through a traveling electric field, wherein the carrying substrate comprises: a rigid upper carrying substrate formed to stand to carry the developer upward; and a flexible bottom carrying substrate curved to be a semispherical shape and is configured to charge the developer by friction with the developer and to be connected with a lower end portion of the upper carrying substrate so as to form a bottom surface of a developer reservoir portion, and wherein a joint portion of the bottom carrying substrate connected to the lower end portion is overlapped with the lower end portion such that the joint portion carries the developer in a same direction as a direction in which the developer is carried by the lower end portion.

摘要: An image forming apparatus includes a developer containing casing, a developer transport body, transport electrodes, and a developer vibrating section. The developer containing casing is a box-like member in which a developer is contained. The developer transport body has a developer transport surface, and is disposed within the developer containing casing. The plurality of transport electrodes are provided along the developer transport surface. These transport electrodes are configured such that they can transport the developer in a predetermined developer transport direction on the developer transport surface upon application of traveling-wave voltages. The developer vibrating section is configured to be able to vibrate the developer which is to be transported on the developer transport surface.

When one of the plurality of development units performs development by the developing agent whose charge capability is higher than that of the developing agent of the development unit that transfers the developing-agent image later in sequence, the recovery unit starts recovery of the developing agent or performs recovery operation for improving recovery capability of the developing agent.

摘要: A latent image formed on a photosensitive member in exposure operations is developed into a toner image, which is then transferred onto an image bearing member in primary transfer operations. Afterward, the toner image is transferred onto a recording sheet in secondary transfer operations. A cleaning unit for cleaning the image bearing member by removing residual toner therefrom is brought into and out of contact with the surface of the image bearing member at a time when neither the exposure operations nor primary transfer operations are being performed.
