Abstract:
The present invention provides a method, an apparatus and computer program product relating to provisioning external identifiers. The present invention includes receiving a request including an interworking function address, a subscriber identifier, a device identifier and at least one application identifier, generating, by the interworking function or by a home subscriber server, at least one external identifier based on the received subscriber identifier, device identifier and at least one application identifier.
Abstract:
Systems and techniques for packet switched connection management. Upon a handover/cell change request with change of routing area code, an examination is made of parameters associated with a user equipment affected by the request for indications that the user equipment is engaged in a packet switched connection. Conditions associated with the handover/cell change request to determine if the packet switched connection should be released. If conditions associated with the handover/cell change request do not indicate that the packet switched connection should be released, release of the packet switched connection is inhibited.
Abstract:
A method includes transmitting a paging indicator indicating to user equipment assigned to one or more groups that the user equipment are to attempt to receive paging messages including paging information targeted to at least one of the one or more groups; and transmitting in a channel the paging information in the paging messages. Another method includes receiving a paging indicator indicating a user equipment is to attempt to receive paging messages including paging information targeted to at least one of one or more groups; and receiving from a channel the paging information in the paging messages. A method includes sending a request message to user equipment assigned to one or more groups, the request message comprising an indication to cause the user equipment to read device trigger information in a system broadcast message; and sending the device trigger information in the system broadcast message.
Abstract:
Various communication systems may benefit from a dynamic streaming service. For example, certain streaming services may benefit from an improvement in the switching between broadcast delivery and unicast delivery for a streaming service in a cellular system. A method includes receiving information about a streaming service. The method also includes determining by a network entity in a radio access network whether to deliver data for the streaming service via multimedia broadcast or unicast based on the information and predetermined criteria for evaluating the information. In addition, the method includes triggering a sending of the data via the multimedia broadcast or the unicast.
Abstract:
Systems, methods, apparatuses, and computer program products for interworking between bearer-less networks and bearer based networks are provided. One method includes receiving, by a network entity in a bearer-less network, a context request to obtain user equipment context information for a user equipment moving from the bearer-less network to a bearer-based network. The method may further include providing a context response comprising the context information to a network entity in the bearer-based network, the context information used to establish bearers for the user equipment to obtain internet protocol (IP) based services.
Abstract:
Various communication systems may benefit from the use of relayed packet data connection. Moreover, such communication systems may benefit from methods and systems for the establishment of a packet data network connection for a proximity services user equipment via a relay user equipment. A method can include establishing a packet data network connection between a relay user equipment and a packet data network gateway. The method can also include establishing a relay connection between a proximity services user equipment and the packet data network gateway. The relay connection can be a connection within the packet data network connection.
Abstract:
Systems, methods, apparatuses, and computer program products that provide flexible support for services are provided. One method includes receiving, by a network node, a request type from a user equipment, where the request type indicates types of services required by the user equipment from the network. The method may also include using the received request type to make determinations regarding a provision of services to the user equipment.
Abstract:
Communication systems, such as an evolved packet system, may benefit from various interworking functions. In particular, certain communication systems in which machine type communication devices are deployed may benefit from a machine type communication interworking function in a visited network. A method may comprise receiving, from a network element, a request in a visited machine type communication interworking function. The method may also comprise processing the request in the visited machine type communication interworking function. The method may further comprise sending a response to the network element in response to the request.

Abstract:
It is provided a method, comprising monitoring whether an apparatus will perform a first mobility procedure from a first network of a first radio access technology to a first other network of a second radio access technology; storing an old identifier, wherein the old identifier identifies a first network element of the first network to which the apparatus is registered before the first mobility procedure starts; monitoring whether the apparatus performs a second mobility procedure from a second other network of a third radio access technology to a second network of the first technology; retrieving the stored old identifier; providing a mapped identifier and the retrieved old identifier to a base station of the second network when the apparatus performs the second mobility procedure, wherein the mapped identifier is based on an identification of a part of the second other network to which the apparatus is registered.
