Abstract:
A method comprising: sending, from a first access point, a scheduling assignment to a first user equipment at a first time; receiving, at the first access point, a reference signal transmission from the first user equipment at a second time; and sending, from the first access point, a downlink data packet transmission to the first user equipment at a third time.
Abstract:
A method includes applying a precoder to information to be transmitted on N antenna ports, wherein application of the precoder creates an M-Tx codebook, each codeword of which is obtained through truncation of a codeword from an N-Tx codebook corresponding to the N antenna ports. The precoded information is transmitted on the N antenna ports to a UE and information allowing an N-Tx codeword to be selected from the N-Tx codebook is received. The N-Tx codeword is truncated to an M-Tx codeword and the M-Tx codeword is used for a transmission to the UE. Another method includes receiving at a UE a transmission in first and second sets of N antenna ports, wherein the second set of antenna ports creates at least in part an M-Tx codebook. The UE searches the N-Tx codebook to determine an N-Tx codeword to be fed back and feeds back the N-Tx codeword.
Abstract:
Various communication systems may benefit from identification of and communication of coverage shortfall. For example, certain communication systems that employ machine type communication devices may benefit from having such shortfall communicated from the devices to a base nation. For example, a method can include determining an amount of coverage shortfall of a device. The method can also include transmitting an indication of the amount of coverage shortfall.
Abstract:
An example method includes generating, by a first user device, a first number representing a contention resolution priority for the first user device contending for at least one first resource over a first data period for transmitting a packet of data in a device-to-device (D2D) wireless network, determining if a second device, in the D2D wireless network, is contending for resources overlapping with the at least one first resource of the first data period, if the second device is contending for resources overlapping with the at least one first resource of the first data period, determining if a second number representing a contention resolution priority for the second user device is greater than the first number, and if the second number is greater than the first number, inhibiting the first user device from communicating using the at least one first resource of the first data period.
