摘要: An optical logic element includes an optical bistable npnp element for switching from a high resistance state to a low resistance state in response to electrical bias and incident light energy in which the switching time becomes shorter as the incident light energy becomes larger. The elements emit light in the low resistance on state. The optical logic element is designed for analog threshold processing of light energy. A plurality of optical bistable elements connected in parallel differentially threshold process incident light energy. An opto-electronic conversion apparatus includes linear arrays of light emitting elements, a two-dimensional array of optical memories, i.e., optical bistable elements, and linear light receiving element arrays arranged transverse to the light emitting element arrays, all integrated with each other. Corresponding light emitting elements, optical memories, and light receiving elements permit arbitrary transfers of signals. Periodic refresh light pulses maintain each optical memory in an established state.

摘要: A dazzle-free reflection mirror, which may be used as an inner mirror or an outer mirror of a vehicle, has an electro-optical element of which transparency is changed by applying an electric field thereto in order to effectuate a dazzle-free operation. The dazzle-free reflection mirror comprises a dazzle-free portion to effectuate the dazzle-free operation at a lower part of the mirror surface and a non-dazzle-free portion not to effectuate the dazzle-free operation at the rest part of the mirror surface. The dazzle-free portion shields light from following-vehicle headlights at night so that the driver feels no glaring. The non-dazzle-free portion clearly images a rear view so that the driver can see an appearance of the following vehicle.

摘要: A control apparatus for a reflection mirror of a vehicle is disclosed. The control apparatus is provided with a rear light sensor, an exterior light sensor and a circuit for driving the reflection mirror into a dazzle-free condition when it is detected by the sensors that an intensive rear light is incident from the rear of the vehicle and the exterior of the vehicle is dark. The control apparatus is further provided with a delay circuit which delays driving the reflection mirror into the dazzle-free condition for a predetermined interval of time after the exterior light sensor detects that the exterior of the vehicle is dark. The exterior light sensor may be a switching circuit which switches on and off front light bulbs of the vehicle. The control apparatus is still further provided with a delay circuit which keeps the dazzle-free condition for a predetermined interval of time even after the rear light sensor detects that the rear of the vehicle is dark.

摘要: An electrochromic display device for use in automobiles, etc. comprises a plurality of mutually parallel strip-shaped display electrodes, a plurality of mutually parallel strip-shaped opposite electrodes, electrochemically-color-developing solid layers, solid electrolyte layers as intermediate layers, and an electrically insulating layer. The display electrodes and the opposite electrodes are arranged so as to three-dimensionally intersect each other. The electrochemically-color-developing solid layers and the solid electrolyte layers are present only at the spaces formed by the intersection between the display electrodes and the opposite electrodes. The electrically insulating layer occupies all portions other than the electrodes, electrochemically-color-developing solid layers and solid electrolyte layers within the device.

摘要: A shutter drive device includes a base member, an actuator, a first drive member, and a second drive member. The actuator is fixed to the base member and produces a driving force to drive the shutter mechanism. The first drive member is rotatably supported by the base member and configured to be rotated by the driving force. The second drive member is supported by the base member so as to be linearly movable in a first direction and configured to transmit the driving force of the actuator to the shutter mechanism. The first drive member has a gear component to drive the second drive member in the first direction, and a cam component configured to hold the second drive member in a specific position. The second drive member has a rack gear configured to mesh with the gear component, and a cam follower configured to contact the cam component.
