    Abstract: An ultrasonic vibration transmittable probe includes a probe body configured to transmit ultrasonic vibration generated by an ultrasonic transducer. A treatment section is provided on a distal end side of the probe body along its longitudinal axis and is configured to cut a treatment object with the ultrasonic vibration. The treatment section includes first to third cutting surfaces disposed at progressively proximal positions. A portion of the first cutting surface has a dimension along a first orthogonal direction orthogonal to the longitudinal axis that is smaller than a dimension of the second cutting surface along the first orthogonal direction.

    Abstract: A method of performing a procedure on a meniscus, via an ultrasonic surgical tool. The ultrasonic tool includes a probe capable of transmitting ultrasonic vibration from a proximal end toward a front end. The probe includes a bent portion that is inclined with respect to a longitudinal axis of the probe, and a procedure portion that is disposed at the front end of the probe and has a plurality of cutting surfaces. The method includes: inserting the probe in a body; moving the probe through a space in between the femur and the tibia to position the procedure portion adjacent to the horizontal rupture in the meniscus; positioning a cutting surface of the procedure portion on a posterior portion of the meniscus; and resecting the horizontal rupture along an inclination of the meniscus to form an inclined resection plane.

    Abstract: An ultrasound probe includes: a probe main body section to which ultrasonic vibration generated by an ultrasound transducer is transmitted; a controller that is connected to the ultrasound transducer and controls generation of the ultrasonic vibration; and a treatment section that is provided on a distal side of the probe main body section and forms a hole in a bone, which is a treatment target, with the ultrasonic vibration. The treatment section has a distal end and a proximal end and includes a columnar portion, a cutting portion that cuts the bone by crushing the bone with the ultrasound vibration and forms the hole, and a discharge portion that discharges cutting debris of the bone cut by the cutting portion toward the proximal end from the cutting portion, the discharge portion including a recessed portion formed in a groove shape inclined with respect to the longitudinal axis.
