Abstract: An anti-fraud method for use in an in-vehicle network system including a plurality of electronic control units that exchange data frames, each having added thereto a message authentication code (MAC), via a bus includes receiving a data frame transmitted on the bus, and generating a first MAC by using a MAC key and a value of a counter that counts a number of times a data frame having added thereto a MAC is transmitted. The method also includes performing verification that the data frame received has added thereto the generated first MAC and incrementing a number of error occurrences when the verification has failed for the data frame, the data frame including a predetermined message ID. When the number of error occurrences exceeds a predetermined threshold, a process associated in advance with the predetermined message ID is executed.

Abstract: An information management method collects log information of one or more home electrical apparatuses corresponding to service providers. Display screen data is generated which indicates a status of the log information. The display screen data includes groups of information which each contain information on an apparatus, a service provider corresponding to the apparatus, and log information output from the apparatus. Provision of the log information of each group is individually selectable. The display screen data is provided via a network to a display terminal that performs access to a server device. Information is received from the display terminal, which indicates that selection on whether or not provision of the log information is performed. Provision of the log information is not performed on the selected group when a determination is made that refusal of provision of the log information on the selected group is performed.

Abstract: A reference message determining method is used in unauthorized communication detection in an onboard network system that is executed by an information processing system including at least one memory. The onboard network system including a network and one or more electronic control units connected to the network. The method includes executing unauthorized activity detection for determining whether or not a message received from the network is an attack message. A message that could not be determined to be unauthorized is regarded as a gray message. The method also includes determining whether or not the gray message is unauthorized again at a predetermined timing. In a case where the gray message is determined to be an attack message in the unauthorized-activity-detection executing operation, a communication pattern is identified based on information relating to the gray message and information relating to the plurality of the received messages previously determined as unauthorized.

Abstract: A gateway device connected to a network used in communication by multiple electronic control units provided on-board a vehicle. The gateway device performs operations including receiving firmware update information that includes updated firmware for one electronic control unit among the electronic control units, and acquiring system configuration information indicating a function of each of the electronic control units connected to the network. The gateway device further performs a controlling operation to update firmware of the one electronic control unit, for which updated firmware is received by the receiving, on a basis of the updated firmware, after an operation verification of the updated firmware is performed in an operating environment appropriately. Abstract: An electronic control unit connected to a bus of a first network where first-type frames are transmitted following a first communication protocol and a second network where second-type frames are transmitted following a second communication protocol in an onboard network system. The electronic control unit sequentially receives the first-type and the second-type frames from the bus and the second network respectively, and stores in first and second reception buffers, respectively. The electronic control unit sequentially generates first-type data and second-type data by referencing the contents of the first reception buffer and the second reception buffer, and stores the first-type and second-type data in first and second transmission buffers, respectively. The first-type data is traveling control data for a vehicle, and the second-type data is other data. The first-type or second-type data that is priority type data is transmitted with priority.
