Abstract: An aerosol-generating system is provided, including: an aerosol-generating device; a cartridge including a liquid agent, the cartridge being configured to be detachably connected to the aerosol-generating device; and an aerosol-generating article, the aerosol-generating device including a cavity configured to receive the aerosol-generating article including an aerosol-forming substrate, and a heating element configured to heat the aerosol-generating article received in the cavity, the heating element including a compartment wall, a first part of the compartment wall being located in the cavity and a second part of the compartment wall extending outside the cavity, and the second part of the compartment wall being configured to interact with the cartridge. A method of operating an aerosol-generating system is also provided.
