摘要: A display system includes a conversion apparatus converting video luminance including a luminance value in a first luminance range and a display apparatus connected thereto and displaying the video. The conversion apparatus includes a first acquisition unit, a first luminance converter, a second luminance converter, a quantization converter, and an output unit outputting a third luminance signal to the display apparatus. The display apparatus includes: a second acquisition unit acquiring the third luminance signal and setting information indicating display settings recommended to the display apparatus in display of the video; a display setting unit setting the display apparatus, using the setting information; a third luminance converter converting a third code value indicated by the third luminance signal into a second luminance value compatible with a second luminance range, using the setting information; and a display controller displaying the video on the display apparatus based on the second luminance value.

摘要: A video display device includes: a video receiver that receives video data including a video and dynamic luminance characteristics indicating a time-dependent change in luminance characteristics of the video; a tone mapping processor that, in the case where a luminance region having a luminance less than or equal to a first luminance is defined as a low luminance region, and a luminance region having a luminance exceeding the first luminance is defined as a high luminance region, (i) performs first tone mapping using first conversion characteristics when first luminance characteristics exceed a predetermined threshold value, and (ii) performs second tone mapping using second conversion characteristics when the first luminance characteristics are less than or equal to the predetermined threshold value.

摘要: A video display apparatus includes: a tone mapping processor that performs a tone mapping process of converting a luminance of a video by using conversion characteristics according to a maximum luminance of the video; and a display that displays the video that has undergone the tone mapping process. The tone mapping processor switches between a first tone mapping process of dynamically changing the conversion characteristics according to a time-dependent change in the maximum luminance of the video and a second tone mapping process that is performed using constant conversion characteristics irrespective of the time-dependent change in the maximum luminance of the video.

The generator generates, as the image, an image displaying (i) a graphic of a first type in, among the two display regions associated with the one communication module, more display regions counted from proximity to the reference position along the one direction, with an increase in the reception strength of the one communication module, and (ii) the graphic of the first type in each of two display regions associated with a communication module that communicates at a slower speed than the one communication module.

摘要: In a reproduction method, a first video stream has a first dynamic range where a maximum value of a luminance dynamic range is more than 100 nits, and a display apparatus displays video in a second dynamic range narrower than the first dynamic range. The method determines whether the first video stream is quantized based on a hybrid OETF. When it is determined that the first video stream is quantized based on the hybrid OETF, the first video stream is reproduced. When it is determined that the first video stream is not quantized based on the hybrid OETF, a luminance dynamic range of the first video stream is converted from the first dynamic range to the second dynamic range to obtain a second video stream, and the second video stream is reproduced.
