Abstract: Aspects are provided that allow a UE to perform DMRS bundling in PUSCH repetitions in response to a configuration from a base station indicating or enabling the UE to perform the DMRS bundling. The UE receives a configuration from a base station indicating to bundle DMRS in repetitions of an uplink data channel transmission for joint channel estimation. The UE determines a DMRS bundling window based on the configuration. The UE transmits the bundled DMRS in the DMRS bundling window. The base station performs the joint channel estimation based on the bundled DMRS. Improved link quality between the UE and base station and signal gains may accordingly result from applying DMRS bundling over multiple repetitions of PUSCH transmissions.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may receive, from a base station, a configuration indicating a set of encoding parameters corresponding to a constellation shaping encoding process. The UE may calculate a number of bits of a first subset of a source bit stream, and the first subset of the source bit stream may include or encompass an input to a distribution matcher. The UE may apply, to the first subset, a distribution matcher parameter based on the set of encoding parameters. The UE may calculate a number of bits of a second subset of the source bit stream, and the second subset of the source bit stream may be concatenated with an output bit stream of the distribution matcher as an input to a channel encoder. The UE may signal the source bit stream to the base station.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described to support an indication of one or more carriers of a flexible cell to be used for reception of one or more respective downlink random access messages. A base station may indicate, via system information, a carrier for reception of a downlink control channel scheduling a second random access message. A user equipment (UE) may initiate a random access procedure by transmitting, to the base station, a first random access message. The UE may monitor for and receive the downlink control channel scheduling the second random access message via the carrier indicated in the system information. The UE may receive the second random access message via the same carrier as the associated downlink control channel, or via a different carrier that may be indicated in the system information or in the downlink control channel transmission.

Abstract: This disclosure provides systems, devices, apparatus, and methods, including computer programs encoded on storage media, for responses to Msg3 PUSCH repetition requests of a UE. In a first aspect, the UE may transmit, to a base station, a request for repetitions of at least one of a PUSCH transmission or a PUSCH retransmission for a random access Msg3 and receive, from the base station, an indication to use one or more fields to determine a number of repetitions of the at least one of the PUSCH transmission or the PUSCH retransmission for the random access Msg3. In a second aspect, the transmitted request may indicate to the base station to use the one or more fields to determine the number of the repetitions of the at least one of the PUSCH transmission or the PUSCH retransmission. The UE may transmit the number of repetitions based on the transmitted indication.

Abstract: Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may transmit a physical random access channel (PRACH) message corresponding to a PRACH occasion, wherein the PRACH occasion comprises a dedicated PRACH occasion or one of a plurality of PRACH occasions comprising at least one shared PRACH occasion associated with a two-step random access channel (RACH) procedure and a four-step RACH procedure, wherein the PRACH message includes a request for physical uplink shared channel (PUSCH) repetition corresponding to a radio resource control (RRC) connection request message of the four-step RACH procedure. The UE may transmit at least one PUSCH repetition associated with the RRC connection request message based at least in part on the request. Numerous other aspects are described.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. In some systems, a wireless device may In use non-uniformly distributed bits for amplitude mapping and uniformly distributed bits for sign mapping to support probabilistic constellation shaping (PCS) for transmission of a message. To provide a coding gain with one or more retransmissions of the message, the device may configure redundancy versions based on the non-uniform distribution of one or more symbols. In some examples, the device may include the same set of non-uniformly distributed systematic bits or at least a portion of non-uniformly distributed systematic bits in each redundancy version of the message. Additionally or alternatively, the device may use multiple modulation and coding scheme (MCS) values to modulate one or more of the redundancy versions, where a first MCS value is used to modulate non-uniformly distributed symbols and a second MCS value is used to modulate uniformly distributed symbols.
