In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may receive an indication that tone reservation is to be applied to one or more subcarriers for one or more downlink communications. The UE may transmit one or more uplink signals, using the one or more subcarriers, for measurement by a base station. The UE may receive the one or more downlink communications having the tone reservation applied to the one or more subcarriers, the one or more subcarriers having tone reservation applied based at least in part on the measurement of the one or more uplink signals on the one or more subcarriers. Abstract: Aspects presented herein may enable a UE to provide HARQ feedback for multiple groups of CBs based on their associated CBG and TBG. In one aspect, a UE receives an RRC configuration for a HARQ transmission, the RRC configuration including a CBG configuration and a TBG configuration. The UE determines, based on the CBG configuration, a number of CBs for each of a plurality of CBGs for HARQ feedback. The UE determines, based on the TBG configuration, a number of TBs for each of a plurality of TBGs for the HARQ feedback. The UE transmits, to a base station, the HARQ feedback, where the HARQ feedback is based on the number of CBs for each of the plurality of CBGs and the number of TBs for each of the plurality of TBGs.

Abstract: Aspects relate to beam management in multi-stream communication between a radio access network (RAN) entity and a user equipment (UE). The RAN entity may transmit a plurality of transmit beams from a plurality of transmission and reception points (TRPs) associated with the RAN entity to the UE. For each of the transmit beams, the UE may obtain a beam quality metric on each of a plurality of receive beams of the UE during a measurement period (e.g., in parallel or serially) to generate a respective beam quality metric vector for each of the transmit beams. The UE can then transmit a beam report including the respective beam quality metric vector for each of the transmit beams to the RAN entity. The RAN entity may then select at least two beam pair links, each associated with a respective TRP, for spatial division multiplexing of at least two streams to the UE based on the beam report.

Abstract: Aspects of the disclosure relate to minimizing the block error rate (BLER) experienced by a user equipment (UE) upon a downlink beam switch at the base station. The base station may mitigate the link adaptation convergence transient upon performing a beam switch by modifying the modulation and coding scheme (MCS) according to a difference in reference signal received power (RSRP) between the old beam and the new beam. The base station may further adjust the MCS utilizing an outer-loop link adaptation process or channel state feedback (CSF) provided by the UE after the beam switch. Other aspects, features, and embodiments are also claimed and described.

Abstract: In order to enable asynchronous, autonomous reception beam switching at a UE while minimizing degradation due to a transient in link performance, a method, apparatus, and computer-readable medium for wireless communication are provided. The apparatus receives CSI-RS on different reception beams in different symbols, wherein one reception beam being a current serving reception beam, and determines whether to switch to a different reception beam based on a SPEFF metric for the different reception beam and/or a severity of a potential link transient qualified in terms of the expected CQI/MCS degradation in the channel. The apparatus may switch from a current serving reception beam to a second reception beam when a first channel quality for the current serving reception beam is within a threshold value of a second channel quality for the second reception beam, the second channel quality being measured using a current configuration.
