    Abstract: Some dynamic pixel binning methods may involve identifying ROI optical sensor data corresponding to optical sensor pixels in a region of interest (ROI). Some such methods also may involve identifying non-ROI optical sensor data corresponding to optical sensor pixels outside the region of interest and determining a first binning factor for the non-ROI optical sensor data. The first binning factor may be based on a number of pixels in the region of interest and a target output data rate. Some such methods also may involve applying the first binning factor to the non-ROI optical sensor data and outputting optical sensor data, including the binned non-ROI optical sensor data, at the target output data rate.

    Abstract: Systems and methods for performing HDR imaging are described. Aspects of the disclosure may include a camera system that uses the same pixels to capture both short and long exposure pixel data to improve camera hardware efficiency and pixel efficiency, and to reduce power usage by the camera system. In some aspects, exposure of a plurality of pixels available in a device may be started. Pixel data from the plurality of pixels may be captured after a first time period has elapsed to obtain short exposure pixel data. Pixel data from the plurality of pixels may also be captured after a second time period, longer than the first time period, has elapsed to obtain long exposure pixel data. The short exposure pixel data and the long exposure pixel data may be processed to create HDR images and/or videos.

    Abstract: An example image capture device includes memory configured to store display content and image information received from a camera sensor, the camera sensor being configured to receive light through at least a portion of a display. The image capture device includes one or more processors coupled to the memory. The one or more processors are configured to determine a camera sensor blanking period. The one or more processors are configured to control the display to display content via one or more of a plurality of pixels in the at least a portion of the display during the camera sensor blanking period. The one or more processors are configured to control the display to not display content via the one or more of the plurality of pixels outside of the camera sensor blanking period.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for dual phase detection auto focus (PDAF) power optimization are described. A camera device may capture a frame including a pixel array representing a scene. In some examples, each pixel of the pixel array may be a phase detection (PD) pixel having one or more values, or one or more PD pixels positioned randomly across the pixel array. The camera device may identify a configuration of the pixel array, and determine a condition of the pixel array relative to the configuration. The configuration may be a binning configuration or a frame pattern configuration, and the condition may include an illumination condition related to the pixel array representing the scene. The camera device may determine and apply a reconfiguration to at least a portion of the pixel array based on the condition of the pixel array, and determine a lens position of the camera device therewith.
