The system includes at least one inlet port through which a fluid can enter the system and at least one effluent port through which an effluent can exit the system. The plunger section forms a sealing engagement with the inner wall of the container such that rearward motion of the plunger is adapted to draw fluid into the system via the inlet and forward motion of the plunger is adapted to force effluent out of the system via the effluent port.

    摘要: An aseptic connector comprises a first member and a second member. The first member preferably includes a resilient septum, and the second member preferably includes a penetrating member. Preferably, the septum is formed from an elastomeric material such as a silicone elastomer. The penetrating member preferably includes an extending penetrating element to penetrate the resilient septum. The aseptic connector further comprises a resilient sealing element that contacts the penetrating member and one of an inner wall of the first member and an inner wall of the second member to create a seal between the penetrating member and one of the inner wall of the first member and the inner wall of the second member. The seal created is suitable to withstand relatively high pressures (for example, those experienced during the injection of contrast media in CT procedures). The extending section includes at least one air conduit and at least one fluid conduit therethrough. The extending section further includes a first abutment member and second abutment member. The first abutment member is adapted to abut a first or air side of the container port upon piercing of the container port. The second abutment member is spaced from the first abutment member and is adapted to abut a second or fluid sided of the container port. The fluid connector can further include grasping members extending from the extending section to facilitate rotation of the extending section relative to the container port during piercing thereof. The fluid connector can also include a check valve in fluid connection with the air line. In several embodiments, the check valve is positioned within the extending section.

    摘要: A syringe includes a body and a plunger disposed therein. The body includes a nozzle formed therein and at least one hub member connected thereto or integrally formed thereon for holding an end of a connector tube. The connector tube includes two ends, each end preferably being connected to a respective hub member to retain the connector tube in contact with the syringe. Preferably, the syringe and the connector tube are packaged in a pre-connected condition for ease of use by the customer. Furthermore, flexible inlet tubing for connection to a syringe for filling the syringe with contrast media, for example, is described. The inlet tubing permits filling of the syringe from either a bag or a bottle and may remain attached to the syringe so that it forms at least a part of the connection to the patient. In addition, an apparatus for facilitating the purge of air from a connector tube that will ultimately be connected between a syringe and a patient is described. The apparatus includes a purging tube connected to the distal end of the connector tubing from the syringe. The purging tube includes a venting cap at its distal end. A flow inhibitor is positioned under the venting cap to cooperate with the venting cap by discouraging the discharge of fluid from the distal end of the purging tube while permitting the discharge of air therefrom.

The injection device further includes a flow regulator to control the flow rate of fluid in fluid connection with the outlet. The container, the pressurizing mechanism, the actuator and the flow regulator can be MR compatible, thereby making the device suitable for use in or near the bore of an MR scanner.

    摘要: A fluid connector system features a stopper and an extending section. Installable within an outlet of a fluid container, the stopper defines a passage therethrough. Defining air and fluid conduits, the extending section has a first abutment member threadably connectible thereto and a second abutment member affixed thereto. The extending section is adapted to be extended through the passage of the stopper when assembled thereto. When the first abutment member is tightened about the extending section, the first and second abutment members abut against the exterior and interior sides, respectively, of the stopper. With the stopper installed within the outlet and the extending section and the abutment members therewith assembled to the stopper thereby sealing the passage therein, fluid within the container may be extracted via the fluid conduit as air exterior to the container flows therein via the air conduct to displace the fluid being extracted from the container.

The fill station is located proximate to the medical container loading device and includes a mounting plate and a holding assembly. The holding assembly is connected to the mounting plate for supporting a medical fluid container adapted for fluid communication with a medical container, such as a syringe, used in the medical container loading device. The holding assembly may include a fixed support and a movable support, which maintain the medical fluid container in the holding assembly. The fixed support may be funnel-shaped with a smooth or stepped inner wall. The fixed support may also be rectangular shaped and have an inclined inner wall or support for supporting the body of the medical fluid container. The movable support may be a resiliently biased support arm or an adjustable strap.
