    摘要: An interspinous process spacer insertion device that positions an interspinous process spacer between the spinous process of adjacent vertebrae in a minimally invasive percutaneous surgical procedure. The device includes a trocar rod that extends through a cannulated sleeve. The spacer is attached to the end of the cannulated sleeve, where a trocar tip of the trocar rod extends through the spacer. The trocar rod is moved through the cannulated sleeve and an incision in the patient, and is positioned between the spinous process of the vertebra to align the device. The cannulated sleeve is then moved down the trocar rod so that the spacer slides between the spinous process, and the trocar rod is then withdrawn from the patient. The spacer is then rotated so that it locks behind the spinous process, and the cannulated sleeve is detached from the spacer and removed from the patient.

    摘要: A mechanism for isolating failures in a digital system is provided. In one embodiment, a fault table is defined for each unit in the system. Related faults are ordered within the table to reflect the time-order in which the faults would be activated during operation of the associated unit. When multiple related faults are reported for a given unit in the system, the fault that is first located when a linear search of the corresponding fault table is conducted is considered the source of the failure within the unit. If faults are reported for multiple units, the source of the failure for the system is identified using at least one of primary and second priority values assigned to the faults, timestamps obtained when the faults are reported, and an order in which the faults are logged.

    摘要: A spacer device that is to be inserted between the spinous process of adjacent vertebrae. In one embodiment, the spacer device is percutaneously inserted between the spinous process of adjacent vertebrae using minimally invasive surgical procedures. The spacer device includes a body portion having a channel extending therethrough, a plate member attached at one end of the body portion that is larger cross-wise than the body portion, and at least one retaining member attached proximate to an opposite end of the body portion from the plate member. The spacer device is inserted between the spinous process with the retaining member stored within the body portion. A deploying device is inserted into the channel to deploy the retaining member to lock the spacer device in place.

The vertebral disc annular fibrosis tensioning and lengthening device includes pedicle screws having heads with cup-shaped cavities. The pedicle screws are threaded into the vertebral bodies of adjacent vertebrae through the pedicles so that open parts of the heads of the pedicle screws face each other. A spring is inserted into the cup-shaped cavities in compression so that the spring bias forces the pedicle screws apart, thus increasing the height of the disc space.

A pump having a rotating element is supported within a pump housing wherein the pump is adapted to draw liquid from the sump through an inlet area and then pump liquid to the wash chamber. A particle chopping assembly is supported in the inlet area upstream of the rotating element, the particle sizing assembly including a particle screen rotatably supporting drive shaft which drivingly supports a chopping blade adjacent the particle screen. The drive shaft has a coupling end which detachably couples to the rotating element. The coupling between the chopping blade and the rotating element is capable of accommodating axial tolerance with regard to the axial position of the rotating element.

    摘要: A damascene structure, such as a conductive line or via, having a liner with a roughened surface between the substrate and the conductive fill and, preferably, a smooth bottom. The substrate underneath the liner may also have a roughened sidewall and smooth bottom. Such a structure provides enhanced adhesion between one or more layers of the damascene structure. The damascene structure may be manufactured by applying a photoresist over a substrate top surface, exposing the photoresist under conditions that create a standing wave in the resist, and developing the photoresist to provide a pattern having the desired roughened or serrated outline. The pattern is transferred into the substrate, the liner is applied over the substrate bottom and sidewalls, and the liner is filled with conductive material. A roughened liner surface may be achieved by applying a partial layer of liner material over the substrate, removing a portion of the partial layer, and repeating the application and removal steps.

    摘要: A ground fault and over-voltage detector and method is disclosed for sensing a loss of neutral continuity between the respective neutral conductors of a ground power unit and an aircraft power system coupled to the unit. The detector includes a feedback path for carrying a feedback signal from the aircraft to the ground power unit. The feedback signal comprises a voltage signal referenced to the aircraft neutral and includes a ground fault voltage component. The detector further includes a signal conditioner disposed in the ground power unit for receiving the feedback signal and generating a signal representative of the magnitude of the ground fault voltage component. A comparator connected to the output of the signal conditioner contrasts the ground fault voltage magnitude signal to a predetermined threshold and a cutoff mechanism responsive to the comparator, when the ground fault voltage is greater than the threshold, to interrupt ground power from the ground power unit to the aircraft.
