    Abstract: A display device includes a display area and a peripheral area. A display layer includes a plurality of display elements arranged thereon. A thin-film encapsulation layer is arranged on the display layer and includes first, second, and third encapsulation layers. The second encapsulation layer is on the first encapsulation layer. The third encapsulation layer is on the second encapsulation layer. A touch sensing layer is arranged on the thin-film encapsulation layer and includes touch electrodes and trace lines. The display area is partially bent about an axis, and the third encapsulation layer is bent along the axis and has a structure in which a first layer and a second layer are alternately stacked. The first layer includes an inorganic insulating material, and the second layer includes a silicon carbon compound material.

    Abstract: A display device includes a display panel including a plurality of first pixels disposed in a first display area and a plurality of second pixels disposed in a second display area adjacent to the first display area, a gate driver disposed in the second display area of the display panel to overlap a portion of of the second pixels and driving the first and second pixels, a controller receiving image data and converting the image data to image signals, and a data driver converting the image signals to data signals and outputting the data signals to the first and second pixels. The controller compensates for effective data corresponding to the second pixels and reflects the compensated effective data to the image signals.

    Abstract: A display apparatus includes a substrate having a first area, a second area, and a third area, the second area being between the first and third areas, a display unit on the substrate in the first area, and an encapsulation layer covering the display unit in the first area and extending into the second area, the encapsulation layer including a first inorganic layer, a second inorganic layer, an organic layer between the first and second inorganic layers in the first area, and a plurality of organic patterns spaced apart from each other at certain intervals in the second area. The first and third areas of the substrate are bent with respect to each other at a predetermined angle, other than a straight angle, with the second area bent therebetween, and the plurality of organic patterns are in the second area that is bent toward the bottom of the substrate.
