    Abstract: An electronic device, non-transitory computer readable medium and a method for point cloud compression (PCC) is provided. The method includes receiving a PCC stream; mapping the PCC stream to a plurality of video ISO base media file format (ISOBMFF) streams; generating a ISOBMFF elementary stream including configuration information indicating a logical grouping of the plurality of video ISOBMFF streams into the PCC stream; and transmitting the ISOBMFF elementary stream and the plurality of video ISOBMFF streams to a client device.

    Abstract: A method, decoder and server for managing buffers for rate pacing. The decoder includes a memory, a transceiver configured to transmit and receive a signal, and processing circuitry operably connected to the memory and the transceiver. The processing circuitry receives, from the server, a removal rate message indicating a drain rate of a pacing buffer of the decoder. The processing circuitry also provides packets from the pacing buffer to a decoding buffer of the decoder according to the drain rate.

    Abstract: An apparatus includes a communication interface and a processor operably coupled to the communication interface. The communication interface receives a plurality of tracks in a compressed bitstream. The processor identifies an atlas track corresponding to a point cloud compression (PCC) component and identifies a set of first component tracks that is referenced by the atlas track and at least one second component track, each of the at least one second component track is an alternative version of a first component track of the set of first component tracks. The processor also determines which of the set of first component tracks and the at least one second component track are appropriate versions of the PCC component. The processor further decodes the appropriate version of the PCC component from among the set of first component tracks and the at least one second component track.

    Abstract: A video decoding device includes a communication interface and a processor operably coupled to the communication interface. The communication interface is configured to receive an input elementary bitstream including a plurality of essential video coding (EVC) slices. The processor is configured to modify the plurality of EVC slices in the input elementary bitstream, and rewrite parameters of the input elements stream based on the modified plurality of EVC slices. The communication interface is further configured to transmit an output elementary bitstream with the modified plurality of EVC slices and the rewritten parameters.
