摘要: Coated phosphorescent pigments are provided which may be utilized in toner compositions. In embodiments, the phosphorescent pigment may be coated by a powder coating process. The large pigment particles may be dry blended with dried resin latex particles, thereby coating the pigment surface, followed by heating and shearing in a rotary kiln or extruder to melt the toner resin and fuse it to the pigment surface. The resulting coated particles may be utilized with other toners, in embodiments color toners, to provide phosphorescent images.

摘要: A process for preparing a toner, includes solvent flashing wax and resin together to emulsify the resin and wax to a sub-micro size; mixing the wax and resin emulsion with a colorant, and optionally a coagulant to form a mixture; heating the mixture at a temperature below a glass transition temperature of the resin to aggregate the resin, colorant, and wax, to form aggregated particles; heating the aggregated particles and coalescent agent at a temperature above the glass transition temperature of said resin, to coalesce the aggregated particles to form toner particles, optionally cooling the mixture; and isolating the toner particles.

摘要: A custom color toner production system includes a toner delivery system, a cartridge sealing system, a mixing system, and a packaging system. The toner delivery system includes selectively engageable fluid delivery lines for delivering toner of particular color to a cartridge as need for producing a custom color toner in response to an electronically submitted user request. Cartridge containing the unmixed delivered toner may be sealed by a sealing system, and blended using a resonant mixer to produce a custom color toner. The cartridge containing the mixed custom color toner may be packaged using a packaging system.

摘要: A toner particle having a core and a shell, and a method for making the toner particle. The core includes a crystalline resin and the shell includes an amorphous resin. The shell is substantially to completely free of the crystalline resin. The toner particle permits inclusion of greater amounts of crystalline resin materials in the core, thereby lowering the minimum fusing temperature of the toner formed from the particles.

The apparatus includes a first loader for dispensing a predetermined amount of toner particles into a container and a second loader for dispensing a predetermined amount and carrier particles in the container. A sealer seals the container. An acoustic mixer is provided for mixing the container, toner particles and carrier particles at a resonant frequency. A method of mixing developer is disclosed.

摘要: The present disclosure provides processes for producing toners. In embodiments, alkyl or alkyl ether sulfates are used in a solvent-free toner production process as surfactants to provide for higher parent particle charge without adversely affecting particle size, distribution control and circularity of the toner particles. The present disclosure also provides a new formulation and process for the emulsification of polyester resins to form nano-scale particles dispersed in water (latex) without the use of organic solvents by an extrusion process.

摘要: Disclosed are amorphous polyesters that contain only renewable resources designed for emulsion aggregation toner fabrication. The amorphous polyesters may be obtained from the mixture of three different monomers: 1,4:3,6-dianhydro-D-sorbitol (isosorbide), nonanedioic acid (azelaic acid), and butanedioic acid (succinic acid). Different polymer properties may be achieved depending on the ratio of these three monomers. By altering the ratio, polymers of high to low acid value can be obtained, as well as different ranges of glass transition temperatures.
