摘要: A semiconductor nanowire is grown laterally. A method of growing the nanowire forms a vertical surface on a substrate, and activates the vertical surface with a nanoparticle catalyst. A method of laterally bridging the nanowire grows the nanowire from the activated vertical surface to connect to an opposite vertical surface on the substrate. A method of connecting electrodes of a semiconductor device grows the nanowire from an activated device electrode to an opposing device electrode. A method of bridging semiconductor nanowires grows nanowires between an electrode pair in opposing lateral directions. A method of self-assembling the nanowire bridges the nanowire between an activated electrode pair. A method of controlling nanowire growth forms a surface irregularity in the vertical surface. An electronic device includes a laterally grown nano-scale interconnection.

摘要: A method for eliminating voicemail notifications on a wireless device for a voicemail message that a user has previously been notified of, comprising the steps of: storing information on the wireless device about the voicemail message; comparing incoming information of a new voicemail notification received by the wireless device against the information stored in the storing step; and notifying the user of the voicemail message only if the incoming information differs from the information stored in the storing step.

摘要: Methods are provided for transitioning between SIP and MIP. Mobile devices, upon detecting a new system, automatically attempt a MIP session to avoid the default position of SIP. A history is maintained of systems visited, and for systems that did not support MIP in the past, a MIP session is not attempted, but rather SIP is initiated from the start.

摘要: Methods and apparatus for limiting communication capabilities in mobile communication devices are disclosed. In one illustrative example, a predetermined condition such as an unsatisfactory temperature or a low battery voltage is detected at the mobile communication device. At this time, a communication request for communicating information through a wireless communication network is received through a user interface. If the communication request is for a non-emergency communication, the non-emergency communication is inhibited during the existence of the predetermined condition. If the communication request is for an emergency communication, however, the emergency communication is allowed despite the existence of the predetermined condition. The emergency communication may be allowed at a reduced transmit power and/or using limited coding/modulation methods. The emergency communication may be a “911” voice call or an emergency message. The reception of communications may still be allowed but inhibited upon more adverse conditions.

摘要: Methods, mobile stations and networks are provided that cause a packet data service reconnect to be performed automatically after the occurrence of an event triggering registration, even in some circumstances where such a data service reconnect would not normally occur. This avoids complications that can arise due to the packet data service being discontinued upon registration and the resulting inability to reach the mobile station.

摘要: Herein are disclosed an apparatus and method of explicit indication of call from emergency call centre. The method includes the steps of forming an emergency signal in relation to the mobile station terminated call; sending the emergency signal to the mobile station on behalf of the emergency call centre; and detecting the emergency signal at the mobile station. The apparatus includes emergency signal forming means for forming an emergency signal in relation to the mobile station terminated call; emergency signal sending means for sending said emergency signal to the mobile station on behalf of the emergency call centre; and emergency signal detecting means for detecting said emergency signal at the mobile station. A global emergency call information record is disclosed for use in cdma2000 type networks and the like. The apparatus and method may apply to other networks.
