A catalyst component for olefin polymerization which comprises an intimate mixture of: Component (A1) which is a solid component for Ziegler catalysts comprising titanium, magnesium and a halogen as essential components in a particulate form; and Component (A2) which is a compound selected from the group consisting of inorganic oxides, inorganic carbonates, inorganic sulfates and physical or chemical mixtures thereof in a particulate form; wherein Component (A2) is employed in a weight ratio to Component (A1) from 0.001 to 0.5 and has an average particle diameter smaller than that of Component (A1). The catalyst component may be of a structure such that the particulate inorganic material, Component (A2), adhere to or cover particles of a solid component of a Ziegler catalyst, whereby fluidity of the Ziegler catalyst component is improved.

A photographing light quantity controller for an endoscope, which is used to control the quantity of illuminating light when a photograph is to be taken through the endoscope. The photographing light quantity controller comprises a device for supplying light for illuminating an object to the endoscope, a device for detecting a quantity of light that is reflected from the object and for outputting a signal in accordance with the detected quantity of light, and a device for amplifying the signal, with the amplifying device having a plurality of amplification factors which can be selected as desired. A photographing light quantity control device is provided for controlling the quantity of illuminating light that is supplied to the endoscope when a photographing operation is conducted, on the basis of the output signal from the amplifying device. A device is also provided for automatically switching over the amplification factors of the amplifying device from one to another in accordance with the brightness of the object.

An apparatus for magnetically detecting a positional relation between first and second members the positions of which change relative to each other comprises a magnetic recording medium carried on the first member and a magnetic sensor substrate supported by the second member. Two or more tracks each including a multiplicity of magnetic poles arranged at a predetermined pitch are provided on the magnetic recording medium, corresponding to the respective phases of two or more detection signals to be detected by the apparatus and in a direction in which the positional relation between the first and second members changes. The magnetic poles in any one of the tracks are shifted with respect to the magnetic poles in the other track by an amount corresponding to a phase difference between the detection signal for the phase which corresponds to the one track and the detection signal for the phase which corresponds to the other track. The magnetic sensor substrate includes a plurality of magnetoresistive elements which are respectively provided corresponding to the tracks and the electrical resistance value of each of which changes in response to a magnetic field originating from the corresponding track. The magnetoresistive elements are combined to generate electric signals as the detection signals. Each of the magnetoresistive elements corresponding to any one of the tracks and the corresponding one of the magnetoresistive elements corresponding to the other track are placed at the same position when viewed in the direction in which the positional relation between the first and second members changes.

The present invention is suitable for the absolute type having a plurality of magnetization tracks.
