    摘要: A toner is disclosed which has toner particles and an external additive. The toner has (a) in circularity distribution of particles measured with a flow type particle image analyzer, an average circularity of from 0.920 to 0.995, containing particles with a circularity of less than 0.950 in an amount of from 2% by number to 40% by number; and (b) a weight-average particle diameter of from 2.0 .mu.m to 9.0 .mu.m as measured by Coulter method. The external additive has, on the toner particles, at least (i) an inorganic fine powder (A) present in the state of primary particles or secondary particles and having an average particle length of from 10 m.mu.m to 400 m.mu.m and a shape factor SF-1 of from 100 to 130 and (ii) a non-spherical inorganic fine powder (B) formed by coalescence of a plurality of particles and having a shape factor SF-1 of greater than 150. Also, a two-component developer and an image forming method, using the toner, are disclosed.

    摘要: A toner for developing an electrostatic image is formed from toner particles containing a binder resin, a colorant, and a charge-controlling agent. The charge-controlling agent comprises an aromatic oxycarboxylic acid, a metal compound of the aromatic oxycarboxylic acid, and an inorganic compound formed from an inorganic anion and an inorganic cation. The aromatic oxycarboxylic acid, the metal compound of the aromatic carboxylic acid and the inorganic anion are contained in proportions of A (wt. %), B (wt. %) and C (ppm), respectively, satisfying the following conditions: 1/99.ltoreq.A/B.ltoreq.20/80, and 10.sup.2 .ltoreq.C. Because of the inclusion of an inorganic compound providing a sufficient amount of inorganic anion, the charge-controlling agent shows a stable charge-controlling characteristic, and the resultant toner exhibits a stable developing performance and transferability in continuous image formation in various environmental conditions.

    摘要: Four color toners of yellow, magenta, cyan and black, and four two-component developers containing the four color toners respectively in combination with a resin-coated ferrite carrier suitable for multi-color electrophotographic copying are provided. Each of the four-color toners is strictly regulated in relation not only to the carrier but also to the other color toners. More specifically, each color toner is strictly controlled with respect to a particle size distribution, freeness from agglomeration, melting characteristics including heat-absorption peaks and apparent viscosity on melting, chromaticity, triboelectric chargeability and optical toner concentration detection characteristic. Because of the strict regulation of these various parameters, the resultant multi-color toner or developer system shows excellent performances at every stage of multi-color electrophotography including development, transfer and fixing (color-mixing) for a long period of successive copying.

That is, the toner of the present invention is a toner obtained by polymerizing a polymerizable monomer composition comprising a polymerizable monomer and a colorant, in which the polymerizable monomer composition is polymerized using a polymerization initiator comprising a redox initiator which includes an organic peroxide with a 10-hour half-life temperature of 86° C. or higher and an reducing agent; the toner has a ratio of a weight-average particle diameter to a number-average particle diameter of 1.40 or less; and the toner has top of a main-peak in a molecular weight range of 5,000 to 50,000 in a molecular weight distribution measured using GPC of the THF-soluble part thereof, including t-butanol with a content of 0.1 to 1,000 ppm.

    摘要: In a full-color image-forming method having at least a charging step, a latent-image-forming step, a developing step of developing an electrostatic latent image by the use of a developer; a transfer step, and a fixing step, the developer comprises a plurality of color developers and a black developer. The color developers are each a two-component developer for full-color image formation which has i) a color toner having color toner particles containing at least a binder resin, a colorant and a wax and ii) a carrier for the color developer. The black developer is a two-component developer for full-color image formation which has i) a black toner having black toner particles containing at least a binder resin, carbon black and a wax and ii) a carrier for the black developer. The carrier for the black developer has a larger absolute value of charge quantity when the same toner is used, than the respective carriers for the color developers.
