    摘要: By using a duct, an image forming device in which an upper portion of a thermal fixing mechanism and an optical mechanism can be cooled. A fixing unit is disposed on the left side of the duct. A first auxiliary plate, which supports a scanner unit having a drive motor, is disposed above an upper opening of the duct. A process cartridge is disposed with its end next to the right side of the duct, and a second auxiliary plate is disposed below the duct. A power source is placed under the second auxiliary plate. Accordingly, cooling air from an intake fan is directed to four directions: between an upper portion of the fixing unit and the first auxiliary plate, to the underside of the first auxiliary plate, to the end of the process cartridge, and to the power source.

    摘要: To avoid burning out a capacitor in a synchronous rectification type DC-to-DC converter due to overvoltages, the synchronous rectification type DC-to-DC converter includes a storage unit storing therein power derived from a power supply, switching elements connecting and disconnecting respective signal paths from power and ground, and a control unit controlling the connecting/disconnecting operations of the switching elements to maintain a voltage output from the storage unit at a predetermined value. The DC/DC converter also includes an overvoltage detecting unit monitoring a voltage derived from the power supply to thereby output an alarm signal when the voltage derived from the power supply exceeds a preselected voltage value, a shortcircuiting unit influencing the connecting conditions of the switching elements when the alarm signal from the overvoltage detecting unit is input therein, whereby the voltage derived from the power supply is shortcircuited, and an interrupting unit interrupting one of the signal paths by the power shortcircuited by the shortcircuiting unit.

    摘要: A system that prevents the engagement of an intermediate gear and a driven gear from releasing due to a force from the driven gear without increasing an arrangement angle is described. A surface receiving a load acting on a rotation axis of a second groove that is used as an axle bearing formed on the side of a second gear part that engages with a driven gear is made to be an inclined receiving part. The second receiving surface touches the rotation axis of the second groove part. The surfaces are arranged such that the distance from the center of rotation of the driving gear increases as it moves away from the driven gear. By this arrangement, the inclined receiving part creates a force in the opposite direction of the direction to release the intermediate gear from the driven gear that acts upon the rotation axis as the counteraction of the force that acts on the rotation axis, so the intermediate gear does not separate from the driven gear.
