    摘要: A digital signal recording and reproducing apparatus are disclosed which can record digital data of the advanced television (ATV) system or some other digital data onto a recording medium without the necessity of displacing recording areas for sub codes of the recording medium and can thus make effective use of the recording capacity of the recording medium. When an ordinary television signal is to be recorded, the length of the Inter Block Gap IBG and amble areas between an audio signal recording area and a video signal recording area is set to an integral number of times the length of a synchronizing block of a digital audio signal and a digital video signal. When data of the ATV system or like data are to be recorded, the data are recorded continuously from the audio signal recording area to the video signal recording area.

    摘要: Methods and apparatus are provided for recording video signals in a plurality of tracks on a recording medium. In certain embodiments, first and second video signal intervals include respective first and second common sub-area signals representing at least one common sub-area of a video screen. The common sub-area signals of the first and second video signal intervals are recorded at respectively different locations within the plurality of tracks. In certain embodiments, component color video signals including luminance signals and first and second color difference signals are divided into a plurality of discrete cosine transformation (DCT) blocks and blocks representing common respective subdivisions of a video screen are assembled into corresponding macro blocks. Adjacent macro blocks are assembled into super macro blocks which, in turn, are arranged in a shuffled sequence relative to the positions of their subdivisions on the video screen for recording in the shuffled sequence. In certain embodiments, digital video signals representing a video screen are recorded in a plurality of tracks on a recording medium after dividing the digital video signals into a plurality of macro blocks assembled into sub-area groups of the video screen. The sub-area groups are shuffled by forming a sequence of track units each including a plurality of the sub-area groups one each from a respective horizontal division of the video screen. Each track unit is recorded in a respective one of a plurality tracks on the recording medium.

    摘要: A digital video tape recorder includes a rotary drum that has a leading head and a trailing head mounted thereon for recording video signals in respective slant tracks scanned on the tape while the tape is advanced. Each of the tracks includes, in sequence in the scanning direction of the respective head, a first auxiliary recording area, a second auxiliary recording area and a video signal recording area. The heads are displaced with respect to each other on the drum in the scanning direction by a distance that is less than the distance in the scanning direction between an ending edge of the first auxiliary recording area of the track formed by the trailing head and a starting edge of the video recording area of the track formed by the leading head. Because of the arrangement of the heads, after-recording of audio signals in the first auxiliary recording area by the trailing head is completed before the leading head begins reproduction of video signals. This prevents cross-talk from the audio recording signal that would disrupt the reproduced video signal. A satisfactory picture can therefore be reproduced during after-recording of audio signals.

    摘要: A method and apparatus for correcting tracking errors of a transducer which scans successive, parallel, adjacent record tracks of a record medium so as to reproduce information signals therefrom. The information signals, which may comprise video signals, are recorded in the parallel record tracks, and predetermined signals also are recorded at predetermined locations in the information signals. When the information and predetermined signals are played back, at least one cross-talk predetermined signal which is recorded in at least one adjacent track also is played back. The cross-talk predetermined signal is detected and a control signal is produced in response to the level of the detected cross-talk predetermined signal. The position of the transducer with respect to the track being scanned thereby is adjusted in accordance with the control signal. In one embodiment, the control signal is recorded at a predetermined location in each horizontal blanking interval of the video signals; and the horizontal blanking intervals which are recorded in one track are displaced with respect to the horizontal blanking intervals which are recorded in the adjacent track. This displacement of the horizontal blanking intervals, and thus the predetermined signals, in adjacent tracks facilitates the detection of the cross-talk predetermined signals which, for example, may comprise pilot signals.
