The hydraulic lash assembly can include a body, a top plunger, a leak down plunger, and the check assembly between the body and the leak down plunger. The mechanical lash assembly can be between the top plunger and the leak down plunger. The mechanical lash assembly can include a shim abutting the top plunger, a spacer, and a spring pressing against the spacer and the shim to form a gap between the top plunger and the leak down plunger. The lash adjuster can include the spring pressing directly against the spacer and directly or indirectly against the shim.

摘要: A compression-release engine brake system operating an exhaust valve of an engine during a compression-release engine braking operation. The compression-release brake system comprises an exhaust rocker arm and a brake reset device disposed in a reset bore formed in the exhaust rocker arm. The brake reset device comprises a reset check valve, a slider-piston slidably disposed in the reset bore and an external slider bias spring biasing the piston foot away from the brake reset device. The external slider bias spring is disposed outside the reset bore and around the piston-slider. The brake reset device permits pressurized hydraulic fluid to flow from a supply conduit to a reset conduit to supply a brake actuation piston when the reset check valve is open. The actuation piston extends and engages the exhaust valve toward the end of a compression stroke of the internal combustion engine, and the brake reset device resets.

摘要: A compression-release engine brake system operating an exhaust valve of an engine during a compression-release engine braking operation. The compression-release brake system comprises an exhaust rocker arm and a brake reset device disposed in a reset bore formed in the exhaust rocker arm. The brake reset device comprises a reset check valve, a slider-piston slidably disposed in the reset bore and an external slider bias spring biasing the piston foot away from the brake reset device. The external slider bias spring is disposed outside the reset bore and around the piston-slider. The brake reset device permits pressurized hydraulic fluid to flow from a supply conduit to a reset conduit to supply a brake actuation piston when the reset check valve is open. The actuation piston extends and engages the exhaust valve toward the end of a compression stroke of the internal combustion engine, and the brake reset device resets.

摘要: A preassembled module for a variable-lift valve drive of an internal combustion engine is provided for installation into a cylinder head. The module has a base plate with an electric linear actuator which lies on an upper side of the base plate. A guide plate, which lies on the upper side, has an outer side wall arranged to guide a slide piece. The guide piece extends below the base plate two downwardly pointing actuating fingers. Each respective actuating finger has a contact surface for moving a transverse coupling slide of a switchable rocker arm. The slide piece has a bracket which protrudes over the guide plate with a contact landing arm which runs transversely relative to the electric linear actuator. An actuator-side end of the contact landing arm is in contact with an actuating pin of the electric linear actuator to move the slide piece.

摘要: A rocker arm includes an outer arm defining a lock pin bore which is centered about a lock pin bore axis and an inner arm which selectively pivots relative to the outer arm about a pivot axis which is parallel to the lock pin bore axis. The inner arm includes a protrusion which defines an inner arm stop surface which is planar. A lock pin is disposed within the lock pin bore, the lock pin having a lock pin slot extending thereinto and also having a lock pin stop surface which is planar. The lock pin is displaced within the lock pin bore between a coupled position in which the lock pin stop surface is aligned with the inner arm stop surface and a decoupled position in which the lock pin slot is aligned with the protrusion.

摘要: Provided is a variable valve lift actuator of an engine, which includes: a first body rotating; a second body; a driving module; and a return spring, wherein an entire portion or a partial front end of the driving module is inserted into a rear end of the second body, the lift degree of the valve is variably controlled in two stages of a high-speed mode and a low-speed mode based on an operating condition of the engine, and when only the high-speed cam is installed on the camshaft, the driving pin is operated in a low-speed and low-load state of the engine to separate the first body from the second body so as to deactivate a cylinder.

摘要: A switchable rocker arm is provided having first and second arms. The first arm has a first outer end and a first inner end and the second arm has a second outer end a second inner end, with the first and second outer ends contacting a respective one of a cam or a valve. One of the first and second inner ends includes an opening with a ring gear and the other includes at least one support for a planet gear that engages the ring gear. A sun gear is located on a rocker shaft and engages the planet gear. A locking mechanism is switchable from a locked position, in which the sun gear is rotationally fixed to the rocker shaft to transfer a cam lift to the valve via the gear ratio provided in the sun, planet, and ring gear arrangement, and a release position, in which the sun gear is rotatable on the rocker shaft so no cam lift is transferred.

摘要: A control technique for an engine having a two-step variable valve lift system includes a controller receiving a pressure in an intake manifold of the engine from a manifold absolute pressure (MAP) sensor and a position of an EGR valve of the engine from an exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) sensor. In response to the controller detecting an upcoming HL-to-LL valve state transition, a set of airflow actuators of the engine is controlled, based on the intake manifold pressure and the EGR valve position, to generate a first torque reserve. In response to generating the first torque reserve, the controller then commands the HL-to-LL transition and depletion of the first torque reserve during the HL-to-LL transition to mitigate torque disturbance associated with this transition.

摘要: A variable valve mechanism of an internal combustion engine includes a cam, a transmission mechanism, a first variable device that controls the transmission mechanism to continuously change at least a maximum lift amount of a lift curve indicating a lift amount of a valve that corresponds to a rotation angle of the internal combustion engine, and a second variable device that controls the transmission mechanism to continuously change at least an operation angle of the lift curve. When the lift curve lies in any condition within a predetermined range that covers all or part of a variable range of the lift curve, an absolute value of a ratio of a maximum lift amount variation to an operation angle variation for a slight change from the condition caused by the first variable device is larger than that for a slight change from the condition caused by the second variable device.
