摘要: A system described herein may provide for the tracking and/or calculating of performance metrics associated with a network by marking traffic and determining performance characteristics of the marked traffic. Such performance characteristics or metrics may include throughput, latency, jitter, and/or other metrics. The marking may be performed on “user” traffic, which may be traffic that is generated or sent via the network by an application or service (e.g., a voice call service, a content streaming service, etc.), as opposed to “synthetic” or “test” traffic, which is traffic that is generated or sent for the purposes of testing performance of the network (e.g., traffic related to a “speed test” or the like).

摘要: Systems and methods provide a short data, low latency service using a Multi-access Edge Computing (MEC) network. A network device receives, in a core network, an attach request from an end device and detect whether a packet size range for data transmissions from the end device is within a configured size threshold. The network device directs, when the packet size is within the configured size threshold, routing of the data transmissions via a control plane function of an edge network to a local instance of an application server in the edge network. The network device directs, when the packet size is over the configured size threshold, routing of the data transmissions via a user plane function of the edge network to a local instance of an application server in the edge network.

摘要: A method, a device, and a non-transitory storage medium are described in which a network slice-based admission and congestion control service is provided. The congestion control service monitors for congestion in a network slice. When congestion is detected, the congestion control service may adjust an allotment of a resource of a network device or the resource of the network slice from end-to-end. When neither of these adjustments can be made, the congestion control service may use a network slice-based access control barring.

摘要: A network device may receive multi-access edge computing (MEC) proximity service information that identifies a set of MEC devices and a set of network services supported by respective MEC devices of the set of MEC devices. The network device may transmit, to a base station, at least a portion of the MEC proximity service information for broadcasting by the base station. The network device may receive, from a user device, a request to establish a peer-to-peer connection with a MEC device for the network service. The network device may authenticate the user device for access to the network service. The network device may transmit, to the user device and the MEC device, connection information that enables the user device and the MEC device to establish the peer-to-peer connection, based on authenticating the user device for access to the network service.

摘要: A method, a device, and a non-transitory storage medium are described in which a network allocation service is provided. The network allocation service may use available network resource information of an application service layer network of a first type, such as a multi-access edge computing network, and application service demand information of an application to determine whether a performance metric of the application service would be satisfied. The performance metric may include a threshold service time that includes a processing time associated with a processing of an application service request and response, by the application service layer network, and a transit time associated the application service response from the application service layer network to an end device. The network allocation service may select the first type or a second type of application service layer network depending on the outcome of the determination.

The first management device may provision the edge cloud resources to provide various functionalities and services of the wireless network in a localized manner to user equipment (“UEs”) that are associated with low latency or high reliability requirements. The second management device may provision the core cloud resources to provide the same or different functionalities and services of the wireless network in a centralized manner to UEs that are not associated with low latency and high reliability requirements.
