    摘要: A gateway apparatus includes multiple network server cards which are synchronized with each other to allow time slot switching of synchronous data across an asynchronous medium between source and destination server cards. The gateway includes synchronization logic and a data adaptation layer which implements a protocol for formatting of synchronous serial data. The data undergoes serial to parallel conversion and is formed into per time slot subpackets which are further packetized along with context and synchronization data. The packet is transmitted through an asynchronous switch after which the packet is disassembled into its constituent subpackets and queued into play-out buffers according to each subpackets' associated context and synchronization data. The apparatus allows synchronous data to be switched from a source time slot to a destination time slot across the asynchronous switch with a known, fixed delay. The gateway apparatus requires only a single asynchronous switch to transmit data between and among both the synchronous and asynchronous domains.

    摘要: The present invention provides a tap assembly including: (1) a first wall defining a valve chamber having a top surface and a pair of opposed tracks extending axially along an inner surface of the wall, and a fluid outlet; (2) a tap handle mounted to the top surface for rotational movement of the tap handle with respect to the wall, the tap handle having a second wall defining an annular chamber supporting a set of threads; and (3) a generally tubular valve member having a first end and an opposed second end, the first end having a pair of lugs circumferentially spaced from one another, the lugs being positioned within the threads, the second end of the valve member extending into the valve chamber, the valve member is responsive to movement of the tap handle to move from a first position where the fluid outlet is sealed by the second end of the valve member to a second position where the fluid outlet is not sealed by the second end of the valve member and fluid is allowed to flow through the fluid outlet.

    摘要: A system and method for facilitating electronic communication between people who speak different languages. An SMS message including content in a first language is received at a network node. It is then determined whether the content in a first language is received at a network node. It is then determined whether the content of the SMS message is to be translated to a second language before being sent to a recipient. This determination can be based on an embedded code or on the fact that a bounded session has been previously established. The content is then translated from the first language to the second language, and the SMS message is thereafter sent to the recipient directly from the network node at which the translating step was performed.

A representative embodiment comprises a base portion made from a wear-resistant plastic material, and an upper portion, or backbone portion, made from a stiffer and more wear resistant material. One of the base or backbone portion is preferably overmolded onto the other. The base portion can be generally defined by a flat pad-contacting surface, an outer surface, and an inner surface. The base portion can additionally include channels extending from the outer surface to the inner surface to facilitate transfer of slurry to and from the substrate to be polished during the process. One or both of the base portion or backbone portion further includes a plurality of circular ribs that serve to create additional bonding surface with the overmolded material. The retaining ring may additionally includes a plurality of bosses with threaded insert holes by which the retaining ring is attached to a chemical mechanical polishing system.
